The surface decorative treatment of UHPC facade panels is the core technical process for achieving personalized expression of architectural aesthetics, covering four major dimensions: “biomimetic texture, custom color, texture sculpting, and functional coatings.” As an industry leader with 28 years of deep expertise in the UHPC field, Qinglong Group has built a comprehensive surface treatment technology library based on the successful practice of national-level landmark projects such as the red double-curved curtain wall of the Wuhan Han Show Theater and the wave-shaped roof of the Hainan International Convention and Exhibition Center: digital scanning and transfer technology achieves stone textures with over 95% fidelity; through-coloring with inorganic mineral pigments ensures color durability (ΔE≤3.0); processes such as sandblasting, acid etching, and polishing create rich textures ranging from matte to mirror finishes; and finally, a fluorocarbon topcoat is applied to enhance weather resistance. In the Shenzhen Yirui Biotechnology Building project, our composite surface treatment process gave the UHPC curtain wall both metallic luster and stone texture, and it has remained in factory-fresh condition after five years of wind and rain. Surface decoration is the meeting point of material and art.
High-precision 3D scanning captures the geometric and color data of natural stone, and a silicone mold negative transfer process precisely replicates stone veining on the UHPC surface. In the Nanning Wuxiang China Resources MixC project, Qinglong Group optimized transfer pressure (0.3-0.5MPa) and curing time (24h) to achieve a texture depth of 0.8mm on simulated sandstone panels with a realistic tactile feel. Combined with substrate coloring technology, this ensures consistent color at cut cross-sections, with fidelity exceeding 96%.
Through-coloring is achieved by adding iron-oxide-based inorganic pigments (dosage 1-3%), avoiding the embarrassment of surface fading. A staged curing regime (80℃×12h + 7 days of natural curing) promotes stable color development. In Hainan's high-temperature, high-UV environment, our specially developed dual-effect process of “substrate coloring + topcoat protection” kept the color difference of red UHPC panels at ΔE≤2.0 over five years, far exceeding industry standards.
Mechanical sandblasting (quartz sand particle size 0.5-1.0mm) creates a uniform matte surface; controlled acid etching (5% hydrochloric acid concentration) exposes aggregates to create a natural rough feel; and diamond soft-pad polishing achieves a mirror finish. The “wood-grain translucent panels” custom-developed by Qinglong Group for Shanghai New World Century Plaza combine CNC engraving with embedded light-guide rods to achieve artistic light-and-shadow effects.
A protective paint containing fluorocarbon resin (PVDF content ≥70%) is applied to the surface, forming a dense protective layer with UV resistance exceeding 10 years. Hydrophobic coatings achieve a contact angle ≥110°, delivering a self-cleaning effect. In coastal projects, we apply an additional anti-fouling coating to effectively resist salt adhesion. Periodic recoating maintenance (every 5-8 years) can extend the decorative service life.
The diversification of surface treatment technology is the key to multiplying the value of UHPC. Through continuous R&D, Qinglong Group turns every UHPC panel into an artwork that carries the design language.
