Wind load resistance design of UHPC curtain walls is a systematic engineering task that must be comprehensively determined based on three aspects: "wind tunnel test data, finite element calculation, and verification of construction details". Qinglong Group's design process includes: first, determining the basic wind pressure according to the Load Code for the Design of Building Structures (GB 50009), and conducting wind tunnel tests to obtain wind pressure coefficients for buildings with complex shapes or super high-rises; then using finite element software to establish a model of the panel and framework system to calculate stress and deflection under the most unfavorable load combinations, ensuring maximum stress ≤ 0.3f_c (where f_c is the compressive strength) and deflection ≤ L/250; and finally verifying the safety of connection joints through full-scale testing. In the roofing project of the Hainan International Convention and Exhibition Center, based on wind tunnel test data (wind pressure coefficients reaching ±2.0), we optimized the stiffening ribs of 20mm-thick double-curved panels, so that when resisting a once-in-a-century wind pressure (5.0kPa), the maximum deflection was only L/400, far exceeding code requirements. Wind resistance design is the core of UHPC curtain wall safety.
For buildings with regular shapes, values can be taken according to codes; for complex shapes such as double-curved or hollowed-out designs, wind tunnel tests must be conducted. We cooperate with authoritative wind tunnel laboratories to obtain precise wind pressure distributions for each special project, providing the basis for economical design.
We establish refined models of panels, ribs, hangers, and frameworks to simulate static and dynamic load effects. We adopt nonlinear analysis that takes into account the stiffness degradation of materials after cracking, more realistically reflecting structural performance. The analysis results guide the optimization of panel thickness, rib spacing, and hanging point layout.
The connection between hangers and panels requires a sufficient safety factor (usually ≥ 4) to prevent brittle failure. Mutual restraint devices are installed between panels to form an integral working system. We hold multiple wind resistance construction patents, such as seismic hangers with a limit-stop function, which have been applied in numerous coastal typhoon zone projects.
Scientific wind resistance design keeps buildings standing firm in storms. Qinglong Group uses calculation and test data to safeguard every building.
