The allowable flatness tolerance for UHPC curtain wall panel surfaces must be controlled in grades according to "panel size, installation location, and visual requirements." The national standard "Standard for Quality Acceptance of Building Decoration Engineering" (GB 50210) requires flatness of ≤2mm/2m for panel curtain walls, while Qinglong Group, drawing on landmark project experience, implements stricter internal control standards: ≤1.5mm/2m for critical facade areas, ≤2mm/2m for main field areas, and up to ≤2.5mm/2m for non-primary facades. In the red double-curved curtain wall project of the Wuhan Han Show Theater, we controlled the flatness of more than 9,000 specially shaped panels within 1.2mm/2m through high-precision steel molds (profile error ±0.1mm) and 3D scanning inspection, ensuring smooth transitions of light and shadow effects across complex curved surfaces. Flatness is a direct reflection of the visual quality of UHPC curtain walls and requires precise control throughout the entire process from production to installation.
Mold rigidity and precision are fundamental; we use CNC-machined steel molds to guarantee profile accuracy. The casting platform achieves flatness of ≤1mm/2m, and dedicated supports are used during curing to prevent deformation. 100% laser scanning inspection is performed before shipment, and non-conforming products never reach the construction site.
3D adjustable anchors allow fine adjustment of ±5mm in the direction perpendicular to the panel surface. During installation, a 2-meter straightedge and feeler gauges are used to check panel by panel, with particular focus on flatness transitions on both sides of panel joints. In the Nanning New Media Center project, millimeter-level precision was achieved through the four-step method of "initial installation – coarse adjustment – fine adjustment – fixing."
Virtual pre-assembly using BIM models optimizes panel joint design and prevents error accumulation. Temperature movement joints are provided to divide the main field into independent units. In the Shenzhen Yirui project, overall facade flatness error was kept within ±3mm, delivering an outstanding visual effect.
Flatness control is a systematic project. Through refined whole-process management, Qinglong Group ensures that curtain wall field areas are as smooth as mirrors and joints as straight as lines.
