Securing large-sized GRC panels (typically referring to panels exceeding 6 square meters in area or 4 meters in length) during transport is a serious challenge in ensuring intact product delivery, and a systematic securing solution of "rigid framing, flexible cushioning, and multi-point restraint" must be adopted. Based on 28 years of nationwide distribution experience, Qinglong Group has developed three mainstream securing methods for different panel types: the Type A vertical steel frame, the Type B flat wooden crate, and the Type C dedicated container. When transporting the 6-meter-long wave-shaped panels for the Hainan International Convention and Exhibition Center, we used customized Type A steel frames with the panels placed vertically, secured with nylon straps fitted with corner protectors, filled with EPE foam between panels, and no more than 6 panels loaded per frame. Over a 2,000-kilometer long-distance journey, the breakage rate was kept below 0.1%. Scientific securing methods can effectively withstand bumps, sudden braking, and transfer stresses during transport.
This is the most commonly used and most economical method. Panels are placed vertically, perpendicular to the truck bed, and inserted into specially made steel frame slots, with rubber pads at the bottom for cushioning and adjustable nylon straps cross-securing the top. This method is suitable for regular large panels with flat surfaces and relatively high strength, and makes full use of the truck compartment space, but it requires smooth roads and avoiding sharp turns.
For ultra-thin panels, irregular panels, or valuable panels with fine relief on the surface, flat wooden crate packaging must be used. The panels are laid flat inside a custom wooden crate, with thick EVA foam laid at the bottom, soft felt covering the panel surfaces, corrugated paper separating the panels, and finally steel straps sealing the crate. This method offers the best protection, but the loading capacity is small and the cost is high.
For extra-large, irregular, or export components, Qinglong Group uses dedicated container shipment. Inside the container, supports that perfectly match the component's shape are built, "embedding" the component within to achieve restraint across all degrees of freedom. This is the safest method, commonly used for international transport or extremely valuable art components.
Regardless of the method used, an experienced carrier must be selected, driving speed must be regulated (usually ≤80km/h), and full-value transport insurance must be purchased. Qinglong Group equips every truckload with GPS positioning and vibration recorders to monitor the transport status in real time. A well-planned transport solution is a vital part of successful project delivery.
