Water curing of GRC panels is a decisive factor in their normal strength development and the prevention of early cracking. It must follow the principles of "timeliness, sufficiency, and continuity," with a standardized curing system established. Qinglong Group's curing regulations require: water spraying or misting should begin immediately after demolding. Under standard conditions (20±2°C), the curing frequency should ensure that the panel surface remains continuously moist for 14 days. The first 7 days are especially critical, requiring misting every 2-4 hours, with appropriately extended intervals at night; after 7 days, this can be reduced to 4-6 times daily. The total wet curing period should not be less than 14 days. At our Nanning production base, we institutionalize curing by combining automatic sprinkler systems with water-retentive coverings (such as wet burlap and water-retention film), ensuring stable early strength development of our products, with the compliance rate for 28-day flexural strength exceeding 99%.
The hydration reaction of cement requires the continuous participation of water. Water curing not only provides water for hydration, but more importantly maintains the surface moisture of GRC panels, preventing plastic shrinkage cracks caused by rapid water evaporation. Especially in summer or in dry, windy environments, the rate of surface water loss is extremely fast, and untimely curing will inevitably lead to network-like micro-cracks, severely affecting durability and appearance.
Curing frequency is by no means fixed. The higher the ambient temperature, the lower the humidity, and the stronger the wind speed, the more the water spraying frequency must be increased or water-retentive coverings adopted. During winter construction, Qinglong Group uses warm water (no lower than 5°C) for curing combined with insulation measures. We develop a "curing plan" for each project, specifying detailed operational requirements under different climatic conditions.
Longer curing is not necessarily better. Usually after 14-21 days, GRC strength has developed to a relatively high level and the internal structure has stabilized, at which point natural curing can be adopted. Qinglong Group determines the curing period for specific projects through strength testing of test blocks cured under the same conditions. Scientific and meticulous curing is the final key process in transforming quality materials into quality products.
