UHPC components differ significantly from traditional concrete components in production cycle, mainly in three stages: mold preparation, curing time, and installation efficiency. Data from Qinglong Group shows that a standard UHPC panel takes 24-48 hours from feeding to demolding (including steam curing), while traditional concrete takes 72 hours; complex-shaped UHPC molds take 7-10 days to fabricate (CNC machining), versus 3-5 days for traditional wooden molds; however, UHPC installation efficiency is 50% higher (lightweight and easy to install), and the overall construction period can be shortened by 30-40%. In the Nanning Wuxiang China Resources MixC project, the 30,000-square-meter UHPC curtain wall was completed 45 days ahead of the originally planned traditional scheme, demonstrating its efficiency advantage.
Differences in the production stage are prominent. UHPC uses high-speed mixing (5-8 minutes), vacuum dewatering (0.5h), and steam curing (24h), with a compact process; traditional concrete is mixed for 2 minutes and naturally cured for 7 days. Qinglong Group has introduced automated production lines, achieving a daily UHPC output of 2,000 square meters, twice that of traditional precast plants. However, UHPC molds require large investment and time-consuming CNC machining, making them suitable for mass production; traditional molds are low-cost and suitable for small batches.
The curing cycle is a key difference. Steam-cured UHPC reaches 70% of its 28-day strength in 24 hours and can be demolded quickly; traditional concrete needs 3 days to reach 30% strength. By optimizing the steam curing regime (2h temperature rise, 20h constant temperature, 2h cooling), we have compressed the curing cycle to 24h with stable quality. In the Shenzhen Yirui Biotechnology Building project, UHPC panel output reached 300 pieces per day, meeting the demands of rapid construction.
Full-cycle benefits need to be comprehensively evaluated. Although UHPC takes slightly longer to produce per piece, its high-strength thin-wall design reduces material usage, and quick installation shortens on-site construction time. Qinglong Group recommends that projects select component types based on the overall construction schedule and quality requirements.
