What Are the Transportation Fixing Methods for Large-Size GRC Panels?

Transportation safety of large-size GRC panels is an important guarantee for project success, requiring targeted fixing measures based on panel dimensions and road conditions. Qinglong Group has summarized three main methods: frame fixing, airbag cushioning, and multi-point strapping.

Frame fixing is suitable for oversized panels. A dedicated steel frame is fabricated, with rubber spacer blocks (thickness ≥30mm) placed between the panel and the frame. In the Hainan International Convention and Exhibition Center project, a tripod support fixing system was designed for 6m×3m roof panels, keeping the transportation breakage rate below 0.1%. Support spacing is determined according to panel stiffness, generally not exceeding 1/3 of the panel length.

Airbag cushioning is used for shock absorption protection. Inflatable airbags are placed between the panels and the truck compartment, with pressure controlled at 0.05-0.1MPa. Qinglong Group adopts this measure for long-distance transportation, effectively reducing vibration damage. Meanwhile, transportation speed is kept within 60km/h to avoid displacement caused by sudden braking.

Multi-point strapping ensures stability. Nylon straps (width ≥50mm) are used for multi-point fixing, with corner protectors added where the straps contact the panels. Strap tension is controlled at 200-300N; overtightening may damage the panels. This fixing method is simple and effective, suitable for most transportation scenarios.
