The production of hollowed-out GRC decorative panels is one of the most technically demanding processes in GRC manufacturing, with its main challenges concentrated in four areas: mold making, fiber distribution, demolding process, and strength assurance. Through the practice of multiple large-scale hollowed-out panel projects, Qinglong Group has developed a complete set of solutions.
Mold making is the primary challenge. The hollowed-out sections require precisely designed loose mold systems to ensure smooth demolding without damaging the components. In the Algeria hotel project, for panels with a hollowing rate exceeding 50%, Qinglong Group adopted modular aluminum alloy molds with more than 200 movable modules, achieving a fitting precision of ±0.1mm. Each movable module is equipped with an ejection device, synchronously controlled through a hydraulic system to ensure uniform force distribution during demolding.
The uniformity of fiber distribution directly affects the strength of hollowed-out sections. Traditional spraying processes are prone to fiber orientation deviations at hollowed-out edges. Qinglong Group developed directional spraying technology, which through robotic arm path optimization keeps the fiber volume ratio at hollowed-out edges above 2.5%. In the Nanning Wuxiang China Resources MixC One project, the hollowed-out panels produced with this technology achieved a flexural strength of 14MPa at the hollowed-out edges, far exceeding industry standards.
The demolding process requires precise control. The adhesion force during demolding of hollowed-out panels is 3-5 times that of ordinary panels, easily leading to damage. Qinglong Group adopted step-type demolding pressure control, with the initial demolding speed controlled at 1mm/s, then accelerating to 5mm/s after breaking through the initial adhesion force. Meanwhile, a fluorocarbon release agent is sprayed on the mold surface, reducing demolding resistance by 40%. These measures effectively ensure the yield rate.
