A load-bearing zone is the area in a GRC component where reinforcing materials are concentrated. Its main function is to bear and transfer concentrated loads through local reinforcement, preventing cracking failure caused by stress concentration. Qinglong GRC has systematically studied the reinforcement mechanism and design methods of load-bearing zones through finite element analysis and full-scale testing.
In the design of the GRC decorative wing panels for the Shanghai Tower, reinforced load-bearing zones were provided in areas of concentrated wind load: within 150mm around the embedded parts, the fiber content was increased from 4% to 6%, and bidirectional fiber mesh was added. Dynamic testing showed that this treatment reduced the stress concentration factor from 3.2 to 1.8, and the maximum deflection of the components under a once-in-a-century wind load was only L/400, fully meeting safety requirements.
Spreads concentrated loads over a larger area; reduces peak stress at hole edges by more than 50%; improves load transfer paths. Through load-bearing zone design, the stress concentration factor can be controlled below 2.0.
Increase the fiber volume ratio to 5%-6%; add fiber mesh (aperture 50×50mm); add chopped steel fibers at critical locations. These reinforcements increase local tensile strength by 40%.
Load-bearing zone extent ≥150mm×150mm; thickness transition slope ≤1:5; distance from embedded part edges ≥20mm. Parameter optimization achieves the best reinforcement effect.
Adopt a layered spraying process; fiber distribution uniformity ≥90%; interface treatment to prevent delamination. Strict process control ensures the reinforcement effect.
Load-bearing zone design requires precise calculation. Qinglong GRC's reinforcement system has been granted multiple patents, significantly improving the load-bearing capacity of components.
