There is a significant difference in production cycles between UHPC components and traditional concrete components, mainly stemming from differences in material properties, curing processes, and demolding strength requirements. Overall, precast UHPC components produced with steam curing can have a single-cycle production period (from casting to demolding) shortened by 50%-70% compared to traditional precast concrete, though the upfront mold preparation and material batching time may be longer. With its mature UHPC precast production line, Qinglong Group can deliver products efficiently and rapidly.
The core difference lies in curing and demolding time. Traditional precast concrete components (such as C50) typically require natural curing or low-temperature steam curing for at least 12-24 hours to reach demolding strength (approximately 15-20MPa), and it often takes several days or even longer from casting to shipment. In contrast, steam-cured UHPC, after 12-24 hours of curing in saturated steam at 70-90°C, develops a compressive strength of over 80-120MPa—sufficient for immediate demolding, transfer, and even shipment—enabling “daily cycle” or “next-day cycle” production. This is one of UHPC's greatest efficiency advantages in precast assembled construction.
However, cycle comparisons require comprehensive consideration. Mold preparation time: UHPC components are mostly high-precision, complex shapes, and the design and fabrication cycle of their molds (usually CNC-machined steel or resin molds) is longer than that of the steel or wooden molds used for traditional concrete. Raw material and mixing requirements: UHPC demands extremely high batching precision, slightly longer mixing times, and more meticulous preparation. Post-curing: although demolding is fast, UHPC still requires a period of moist curing after leaving the factory to ensure its long-term performance fully develops.
Taking Qinglong's production practice as an example, a standard UHPC curtain wall panel—from mixing, casting, and steam curing to demolding and surface treatment—can be completed within 24-36 hours, whereas a traditional precast concrete panel of the same size may take 3-5 days to reach the same shipping-ready state. For projects with tight schedules, UHPC's rapid turnaround advantage is clear. However, when planning, owners should comprehensively consider the overall timeline, including mold preparation and production scheduling. Qinglong's project team will provide a detailed production planning network diagram to ensure efficient delivery.
