With the widespread adoption of green building concepts, environmental acceptance for GRC projects is receiving increasing attention. Its indicator system covers multiple dimensions such as "the environmental friendliness of the materials themselves, the greenness of the production process, and the environmental impact of the construction process." As a practitioner of green building, Qinglong Group not only ensures that its GRC products meet basic mechanical performance requirements, but also benchmarks against high environmental standards, providing support for projects to obtain green building certifications (such as LEED and Three-Star Green Building).
The environmental indicators of the materials themselves are the foundation. The main components of GRC are cement, sand, glass fiber, and water, making it inherently a non-toxic, harmless inorganic material. Key environmental testing indicators include: 1) Radionuclide limits: materials must meet the Class A requirements of GB 6566 "Limits of Radionuclides in Building Materials", namely an internal exposure index IRa ≤ 1.0 and an external exposure index Iγ ≤ 1.3, before they can be used in all civil buildings. 2) Content of hazardous substances: certain colored GRC or surface coatings need to be tested for hazardous substances such as heavy metals to ensure compliance with relevant standards. Qinglong's GRC products can all provide test reports from authoritative institutions, proving their environmental safety.
Green evaluation of the production process must not be overlooked. Although it is not directly reflected in the completion acceptance report, it is an important aspect of assessing the environmental impact of a product over its entire life cycle. Qinglong's Nanning production base practices green production through the following measures: using industrial waste such as slag and fly ash as admixtures; recycling production wastewater; adopting energy-saving equipment and optimizing curing regimes to reduce energy consumption; and crushing offcuts for reuse as aggregates, achieving zero solid waste discharge. These measures have significantly reduced the product's carbon footprint.
Environmental control during the construction stage is also a requirement of green construction. This includes: reducing dust and noise generated by on-site cutting; sorted collection and compliant disposal of waste; and selecting low-VOCs (volatile organic compounds) sealants and coatings. Although GRC, as a precast component, involves little on-site wet work and inherently offers green construction advantages, refined management can further enhance its environmental performance. Choosing Qinglong's GRC products means choosing a fully green path from raw materials and production to application.
