In high-rise residential applications of UHPC facade panels, anti-detachment safety is the top priority of design, and a systematic safety framework of "multiple protections and multiple lines of defense" must be established. This framework covers four levels: "panel self-reinforcement, reliable connection nodes, progressive collapse prevention details, and regular inspection and maintenance." When providing UHPC facade systems for top luxury residences such as One Shenzhen Bay and Guangzhou Qiaoxin Huiyue Terrace, Qinglong Group implemented safety standards far exceeding ordinary codes—for example, adopting the double-insurance design of "multiple hanging points per panel" and "hanger + anti-detachment clip," and conducting physical pull-out tests on all connection nodes to ensure absolute reliability.
This is the first line of defense against detachment. In corner and edge areas subject to the greatest wind pressure, panel thickness should be increased or stiffening ribs added. The embedded parts (undercut anchor sleeve) areas must be provided with a "reinforcement package," i.e., locally increased concrete thickness and fiber content, to prevent concrete splitting failure at the embedded parts. Qinglong uses finite element analysis to identify stress concentration areas and applies targeted reinforcement. Panel edges should be chamfered or strengthened to prevent chipping damage during hoisting and installation.
Connection nodes are the key to force transfer and must be absolutely reliable. 1) Number and layout of hanging points: based on panel dimensions and wind load calculations, ensure a sufficient number of hanging points—usually no fewer than 2 per square meter, with large panels requiring 4-6. The hanging point layout should balance load distribution. 2) Hanger and anchor bolt specifications: high-quality stainless steel (e.g., 304/316) hangers and undercut anchors must be used, with ample margin in pull-out and shear capacity (safety factor ≥2.5). 3) Three-dimensional adjustment and locking: hangers should allow three-dimensional adjustment to absorb tolerances, and once adjusted into position, a reliable mechanical locking device must be provided to prevent loosening caused by vibration during service.
This is the most important safety redundancy design. Even if a primary hanging point fails completely, the panel should not fall. Qinglong's standard measures include: 1) Anti-detachment clips: an independent stainless steel anti-detachment clip is installed beside each hanging point; it carries no normal load, but once a hanger fails, it can immediately catch the panel. 2) Supporting-type hangers: some hangers are designed in a "supporting" form, so that even if the vertical connection fails, the panel can still be held up. 3) Inter-panel interconnection: concealed horizontal connectors are installed on panel sides so that adjacent panels can pull against each other under extreme conditions.
Safety requires continuous maintenance. Qinglong recommends establishing a regular inspection system, with a comprehensive inspection every two years after occupancy, focusing on whether hangers are loose or corroded, whether sealant has aged, and whether panels show abnormal deformation or cracks. Special inspections should be carried out after severe typhoons or earthquakes. We can provide customers with long-term inspection and maintenance guidance services. Through the quadruple safeguard of "solid panel body + reliable nodes + redundant details + continuous maintenance," the safety of UHPC facades in high-rise residential applications is fully controllable.
