The curing period of GRC components is a critical stage for ensuring stable performance development, and must be scientifically determined based on material properties, environmental conditions, and service requirements. Based on extensive test data and engineering experience, Qinglong Group has set the curing period under standard curing conditions at 28 days, with appropriate extension required in special environments. In the Wuhan Hanxiu Theater project, we ensured the performance stability and durability of the GRC curtain wall through strict curing period control.
Determining the curing period requires consideration of the cement hydration process. The main strength development of GRC materials is concentrated in the early stage, but performance stability takes a longer time. Under standard curing conditions, the 3-day strength of GRC can reach over 70% of its 28-day strength, and the 7-day strength can reach over 85%, but the stabilization of long-term properties such as shrinkage deformation and creep requires 28 days or even longer. Through systematic performance testing, Qinglong has established 28 days as the basic curing period to ensure that material properties are essentially stable.
Environmental conditions have a significant influence on the curing period. Environmental factors such as temperature and humidity directly affect the rate of cement hydration. In low-temperature environments, the hydration reaction slows down and the curing period needs to be appropriately extended; in dry environments, moisture evaporates faster and moisturizing measures need to be strengthened. Qinglong develops customized curing plans based on specific environmental conditions to ensure ideal performance development under different conditions.
Service requirements affect the determination of the curing period. For components requiring early load-bearing, sufficient early strength must be ensured; for components with strict deformation control requirements, shrinkage must be allowed to become basically stable. Qinglong adjusts the performance development pattern as needed by adding admixtures such as early-strength agents or shrinkage-reducing agents. In the Shenzhen Pingshan High-tech Zone Comprehensive Service Center project, the curing period was optimized while ensuring quality through scientific mix proportion design and curing regimes.
Quality control during the curing period is essential. Qinglong has established a comprehensive curing management system that monitors environmental parameters such as temperature and humidity to ensure curing conditions meet requirements. Performance tests are also conducted on companion specimens cured under the same conditions to track material performance development in real time. Through whole-process quality control, every GRC component is ensured to receive adequate curing and meet design performance requirements.
