During the installation of UHPC curtain wall panels, the precise design of anchor clip spacing and load-bearing capacity is the lifeline that ensures the safety and stability of the curtain wall system. As Qinglong Group, with 28 years of hands-on UHPC engineering experience, we have distilled these technical requirements—based on extensive project data and national standards—into three core principles: refined spacing control, dynamic load-bearing verification, and redundant safety margins. In the Shenzhen Yirui Biotechnology Building project, we optimized the anchor clip spacing of shaped panels to 400mm through finite element analysis, ensuring the absolute safety of the curtain wall under force-12 typhoon conditions. Scientific design is not merely about meeting codes—it is a mark of respect for the life of the building.
Determining anchor clip spacing requires comprehensive consideration of panel specifications, standard wind load values, and the inherent characteristics of the panel material. According to the GB/T 21086 "Curtain Wall" standard, the anchor point spacing of conventional rectangular UHPC panels should generally not exceed 600mm; for large panels or shaped panels with side lengths exceeding 2.4m, spacing must be reduced to 400-500mm. In the Nanning Wuxiang China Resources MixC One project, Qinglong adopted a six-point support system for 1.5m×3m standard panels, with spacing strictly controlled within 500mm. It is particularly important to note that stress concentration is pronounced at panel corners, so the first anchor point should be positioned 150-200mm from the panel edge to prevent panel cracking caused by stress concentration.
Load-bearing verification must adopt dynamic analysis methods that fully account for the non-uniformity of wind pressure distribution. Qinglong's technical team uses ANSYS software for wind tunnel simulation to calculate anchor clip forces under the most unfavorable load combinations. For projects in coastal typhoon zones, the load-bearing safety factor should be no less than 3.0; for general regions, it should not fall below 2.5. In the roofing project of the Hainan International Convention and Exhibition Center, we created an independent mechanical record for every anchor clip, ensuring a pull-out resistance of no less than 6kN—well above the 4.5kN benchmark required by the code.
The corrosion resistance of the anchor clip system has a direct bearing on long-term safety. Qinglong strictly requires the use of 304 or 316 stainless steel, and specifies 316L stainless steel anchor clips for projects in highly corrosive coastal environments. In the Ouargla Hotel project in Algeria, we added epoxy coating protection to the anchor clips, effectively withstanding erosion from the hot, high-salinity desert environment. The connection between anchor clips and the keel should adopt a three-dimensionally adjustable mechanism to accommodate construction tolerances and temperature-induced deformation, with an adjustment range typically no less than ±10mm.
Qinglong Group recommends establishing a "design-production-installation" full-process quality control system for UHPC curtain wall anchor clip systems. By using BIM technology to rehearse the installation process in advance and laser positioning to keep installation accuracy errors within ±2mm, only by perfecting every detail can we deliver premium projects that stand the test of time.
