The GRC production process is a systematic engineering undertaking, mainly comprising four core stages: mold making, batching and mixing, forming, and curing and demolding. Through 28 years of technical accumulation, Qinglong Group has established a complete production process quality control system, with strict operating procedures for every stage. In the Shanghai New World Century Plaza project on Nanjing East Road, we used precision production techniques to successfully produce wood-grain translucent UHPC panels with a single-panel area of 12 square meters, demonstrating the powerful capability of advanced production processes.
Mold quality directly determines the precision of GRC components. Qinglong uses CNC machining combined with hand finishing to create master molds, which are then replicated into production molds using GRP (fibreglass). For complex shaped components, we use 3D scanning and 3D printing technology to ensure shape accuracy. The mold surface finish must achieve a mirror effect, and draft angles are strictly controlled within the 1-3 degree range.
GRC ingredients must be precisely measured, with errors controlled within ±1%. Qinglong uses a fully automatic mixing system that feeds materials according to preset programs to ensure mix uniformity. Mixing time and feeding sequence are strictly specified; for example, fibers should be added after the slurry is initially uniform to avoid clumping. Our production lines achieve real-time monitoring and data recording of the batching process.
Depending on component characteristics, Qinglong employs different forming processes. Spray-up forming is suitable for complex curved surfaces, premix casting for standard components, and mesh reinforcement for flat panels. In the Wuhan Han Show Theatre project, we used a robotic spray-up process to ensure uniform thickness and consistent fiber distribution across 287 double-curved panels.
Curing is a critical factor affecting GRC performance. Qinglong has established standard curing procedures: moist curing for no less than 24 hours before demolding, followed by another 7 days of curing after demolding. The curing environment is kept at a temperature of 15-25°C and a humidity of ≥90%. Specialized tools are used during demolding to avoid damaging component edges and corners. Scientific curing ensures the full development of GRC strength.
