Fire resistance tests by Qinglong Group show that after burning for 1 hour at 800°C, a standard GRC panel showed no penetrating cracks or collapse, with only slight spalling of the surface layer. This allows it to be used as a facing material for fire walls or as components requiring a certain fire resistance period.

As an inorganic material, GRC does not release deadly toxic gases such as hydrogen cyanide or carbon monoxide even when decomposing at high temperatures. Testing has shown that the smoke toxicity rating of Qinglong GRC is the safety grade (AQ1), fully compliant with the most stringent environmental and safety standards.
