After UHPC is placed, its strength develops far faster than ordinary concrete, with the notable characteristics of "high early strength and steady long-term growth." Under standard curing, high-quality UHPC (such as Qinglong's 150MPa grade) typically reaches a compressive strength of 50-70MPa at 1 day (about 50% of the 28-day strength), 80-100MPa at 3 days, and over 150MPa at 28 days; flexural strength can reach 8-10MPa at 1 day and over 15MPa at 28 days. Strength development is influenced by "curing temperature, humidity, and mix proportion." Steam curing (e.g., 80℃×12h) can greatly accelerate it, with 1-day strength reaching over 70% of the 28-day standard. In the Wuhan Hanxiu Theater project, we used steam curing to ensure that shaped panels had sufficient demolding strength, keeping the installation schedule on track. Understanding strength development patterns is essential for efficient construction.
In a 20℃ moist curing environment, Qinglong UHPC strength growth is approximately: 50% at 1 day, 70% at 3 days, 85% at 7 days, and 100% at 28 days, with slow growth continuing thereafter. This characteristic allows early demolding (1-3 days) and lifting, shortening construction schedules. We provide a strength development prediction curve for each mix proportion.
Steam curing (temperature 70-90℃, duration 8-24h) activates the cementitious materials, enabling 1-day strength to reach 70%-90% of the 28-day strength. Qinglong's intelligent curing kilns provide precise temperature control (±2℃), preventing thermal stress cracking. This method is particularly suitable for precast components and rapid mold turnover.
Adding active admixtures such as silica fume and mineral powder results in slightly slower early strength development but higher later strength. Sulfoaluminate cement-based UHPC develops early strength faster. By optimizing mix proportions, we balance early strength with long-term performance.
After placement, cover promptly to retain moisture and protect against wind and sun. When temperatures fall below 5℃, insulation is required; above 30℃, cooling and moisturizing are needed. Poor curing will result in reduced strength and surface cracking. We provide on-site curing guidelines and monitoring services.
Scientific curing is the key to achieving target strength. Through material optimization and process control, Qinglong Group ensures that UHPC strength develops on schedule, supporting rapid project advancement.
