UHPC casting methods mainly include "spray molding, casting molding, extrusion molding, 3D printing," etc., with the choice depending on "component shape, dimensions, quantity, and performance requirements." Based on 28 years of engineering practice, Qinglong Group most commonly uses spraying and casting methods: the spraying method (robotic arm or manual) sprays fibers and slurry together under high pressure, suitable for complex curved surfaces and thin-walled components (such as curtain wall panels), with fibers distributed in three-dimensional random orientation for excellent toughness; the casting method is similar to ordinary concrete, suitable for regularly shaped, large-batch components (such as stairs and wall panels), with high production efficiency. For the double-curved roof of the Hainan Convention and Exhibition Center, we used robotic arm spraying, perfectly realizing 120,000 square meters of curved surfaces; in a precast staircase project in Shenzhen, the casting method achieved a daily output of one hundred pieces. No method is superior or inferior—only suitability matters.
It is divided into dry spraying (fibers pre-mixed with dry materials, with water added at the nozzle) and wet spraying (pre-mixed slurry sprayed together with fibers). Wet spraying offers more stable quality. Robotic arm spraying offers programmable paths with high precision and good uniformity. Qinglong has introduced German robotic arms, achieving fiber distribution uniformity of ≥95% and component flexural strength exceeding 15MPa.
The mixed UHPC slurry is poured into molds, supplemented with vibration for compaction. Suitable for standard components such as panels, beams, and columns. We use high-frequency vibrating tables (frequency 50Hz) and vacuum dewatering technology to improve density. The production line is automated, with high efficiency and relatively low cost.
Extrusion molding is used for elongated products (such as profiles). 3D printing (additive manufacturing) is suitable for personalized, small-batch artistic components, but equipment costs are high. Qinglong's R&D center is exploring 3D printing technology for special landscape projects.
Spraying equipment requires large investment but offers high design freedom; casting molds are costly but suitable for large scale. Qinglong recommends the optimal solution based on project requirements and provides customized equipment and process support.
Choosing the appropriate casting method is a balance between economy and artistry. With rich experience, Qinglong Group tailors the optimal process route for each client.
