Amid today's wave of construction industrialization and digitalization, the BIM application capability of UHPC manufacturers has shifted from a “bonus point” to a “necessity,” and its depth directly determines “design intent fidelity, manufacturing precision, installation efficiency, and ease of operation and maintenance management.” Qinglong Group has deeply integrated BIM technology into the entire process, achieving the leap from “geometric model” to “manufacturing information model” to “operation and maintenance asset model”: in the Wuhan Han Show Theatre project, we used the BIM model to carry out optimized segmentation of complex double-curved surfaces, CNC machining programming for moulds, and pre-assembly collision detection, and generated a QR code “identity card” for each panel to guide production and installation, ultimately keeping the cumulative installation error of 9,000 special-shaped panels within ±5mm. BIM capability is the digital bridge connecting virtual design with the physical world.
After receiving the architect's conceptual model, our BIM team performs manufacturability analysis, optimizes panel joints (reducing the number of mould types), carries out structural calculations (optimizing panel thickness and stiffening ribs), and rehearses installation sequences. Through BIM's clash detection function, conflicts between UHPC panels and the main structure, MEP pipelines, and curtain wall window frames are identified in advance, avoiding later rework. This is a key step in cost control and schedule assurance.
The geometric data of the developed BIM model can be exported directly to drive five-axis CNC machine tools for mould machining, ensuring “what you model is what you get.” Component information in the model (dimensions, volume, weight, reinforcement, embedded part positions) can be used to generate production task orders, bills of materials, and process cards with one click, enabling digital management of the production process. This is the core of ensuring high product precision.
We import the BIM model into mobile terminals or AR devices to guide on-site installation. By scanning the QR code on a panel, workers can retrieve the component's 3D drawings, installation position, and its relationship with adjacent components on their phones. Through BIM-based installation process simulation, we optimize lifting plans and construction sequences, greatly improving installation accuracy and efficiency.
Upon completion, we deliver the complete BIM model containing product information to the owner, where it becomes a digital asset. In the future, property management staff can use the model to quickly locate any panel and query its production information and maintenance records. Combined with IoT sensors, online monitoring of component stress and deformation can even be achieved, enabling predictive maintenance.
Therefore, a UHPC manufacturer without deep BIM application capability will inevitably fall short when handling complex projects. Qinglong Group builds BIM into its core competitiveness and is committed to using digital means to provide customers with higher-quality, more efficient, and fully lifecycle-manageable products and services.
