Digital technology has been deeply integrated into the entire process of GRC curtain wall installation, achieving a paradigm shift from "experience-based construction" to "precision construction". Its core applications are reflected in four key stages: "digital surveying and setting-out, BIM visual guidance, IoT progress management, and 3D scanning acceptance". Qinglong Group has fully implemented digital construction in complex projects such as the Wuhan Han Show Theatre and the Nanning New Media Center: using 3D laser scanning to capture actual on-site point clouds and comparing them with BIM design models to generate installation deviation maps; overlaying installation positioning information onto workers' field of view through AR (Augmented Reality) glasses; using mobile terminals and QR codes to achieve full-process traceability of components from the factory to the wall; and after completion, using UAV photogrammetry for rapid acceptance. In the installation of the double-curved curtain wall at Nanning Wuxiang China Resources MixC, digital technology reduced the average installation error from the traditional ±5mm to ±2mm, improving efficiency by 40%. Digitalization is the golden key to solving complex-shape installation challenges.
Civil structures inevitably have construction tolerances. Before installation, a 3D laser scanner is used to scan the main structure to generate a high-precision point cloud model. This model is compared and analyzed against the BIM design model of the GRC components to identify significant deviations in advance for adjustment, or to optimize component segmentation and connection joint design, achieving "components adapting to the structure" and avoiding extensive on-site chiseling and adjustments.
For components with complex shapes and difficult spatial positioning, traditional 2D drawings are hard to understand. We equip installation workers with AR smart glasses or tablets, overlaying information such as the component's 3D model, installation position, angle, and bolt numbers onto the real construction site view in an augmented reality manner. Workers can achieve "what you see is what you install", greatly reducing the technical barrier and error rate.
Each GRC component is assigned a unique QR code "ID card" at production, recording its material, production, quality inspection, logistics, and other information. During installation, workers scan the QR code to retrieve installation drawings and video guidance. Management personnel can view installation progress and quality data in real time via mobile devices, achieving transparent and refined project management.
Digitalization is not about showing off technology; it is the inevitable path to improving quality, efficiency, and manageability. Qinglong Group is committed to building "digital twin"-level GRC curtain wall construction capabilities.
