The key to integrated construction of GRC curtain walls and insulation systems lies in achieving "structural integration, performance synergy, process optimization, and quality control." At its core is building a composite wall system in which the functional layers—the "decorative facing layer, waterproof breathable layer, insulation layer, and structural substrate"—work together in synergy. Qinglong Group has successfully applied the "GRC insulation-decorative integrated panel" technology in projects such as the Shenzhen Pingshan High-Tech Zone Comprehensive Service Center (a Luban Award project). Its key control points include: ensuring reliable bonding between the insulation material and GRC panels (tensile bond strength ≥0.1MPa), installing continuous waterproof breathable and vapor barrier layers, designing adjustable mechanical anchoring systems to bear wind loads, and optimizing thermal bridging and waterproofing treatment at panel joints. Integrated construction merges the traditionally separate decorative and insulation work, shortening the construction period by 40% and avoiding common quality defects of layered construction. Integration is not simple stacking—it is seamless fusion.
The insulation layer (such as rock wool or graphite polystyrene board) is composited with the GRC panel in the factory using special bonding mortar, supplemented by thermal-break anchors for mechanical fixing, forming a dual guarantee of "bonding plus anchoring." Qinglong Group conducts weather resistance tests on the adhesive to ensure it does not detach under temperature cycling and humidity. Anchors must penetrate the insulation layer into the main structure, and their design and quantity must be determined by wind pressure resistance calculations.
A waterproof breathable membrane is installed on the inner side of the GRC panel to block liquid water intrusion while allowing water vapor to escape, preventing the insulation layer from becoming damp and failing. A vapor barrier is installed between the insulation layer and the structural wall to control indoor water vapor from penetrating into the wall. The sealing system at panel joints must provide airtightness, watertightness, and a certain degree of deformation capability.
Condensation verification must be performed on the composite wall to ensure no condensation occurs at any internal location. The insulation layer thickness must meet national energy-saving standards. Qinglong Group uses thermal simulation software to optimize the construction and avoid thermal bridges. In severe cold regions of the north, we use thicker insulation layers and special edge detailing.
Integrated panels are large in size and light in weight, offering high installation efficiency. We have developed special installation clips for rapid positioning and leveling. On site, key controls focus on panel joint treatment, anchor tightening torque, and edge closure details. Each project has a dedicated construction plan prepared, along with technical briefings.
The GRC integrated insulation and decorative system represents the development direction of building industrialization. Through technical integration and refined construction, Qinglong Group provides customers with energy-saving, aesthetically pleasing, and durable high-performance facade solutions.
