Digital technology achieves precise alignment of double-curved GRC panels through three technical pillars—"3D scanning, BIM coordination, and robotic construction"—reducing installation tolerance from the traditional ±10mm to ±2mm. In the Wuhan Hanxiu Theater project, Qinglong Group used laser scanning to obtain point clouds of the substrate (accuracy ±0.1mm), BIM model pre-assembly to optimize panel joints (width tolerance ≤±1.5mm), and robotic layout positioning (repeat accuracy ±0.5mm), achieving "millimeter-level" alignment of 9,000 double-curved panels. Digitalization not only improves precision but also enables full traceability and predictability throughout the entire process.
3D scanning is the data foundation. Pulsed scanners with point spacing ≤2mm are used to generate high-precision point cloud models. In the Hainan Convention and Exhibition Center project, scanning revealed a maximum substrate deviation of 25mm, which was absorbed through model adjustments. Scan data is compared with the design model to automatically generate adjustment reports.
BIM coordination is the key link, covering clash detection, installation sequence simulation, and material optimization. We developed installation simulation software to rehearse the entire process. In the Shenzhen Yirui project, simulation identified 23 potential conflicts, allowing the plan to be optimized in advance.
Robotic construction ensures precision execution. Total station robots are used for layout, with robotic arms assisting positioning. Qinglong Group's digital installation technology brings complex curved-surface construction into the era of intelligent manufacturing.
