The application of 3D scanning technology in GRC modeling covers three key areas: "reverse design, quality inspection, and installation guidance", achieving full-process digital control through high-precision point cloud data (accuracy ±0.1mm). In the Wuhan Han Show Theater project, Qinglong Group used handheld laser scanners to inspect all 9,000 double-curved panels, keeping production errors within ±1.5mm and cumulative installation errors ≤3mm. 3D scanning not only improves precision but also enables quality traceability, making it a core technology of intelligent manufacturing.
Reverse design is key to realizing complex geometries. For restoration projects or free-form designs, we capture data of existing structures or physical models through scanning to generate accurate BIM models. In the roof renovation of the Hainan International Convention and Exhibition Center, scanning the existing structure allowed us to optimize the new panel shapes for perfect alignment. Scan data directly drives CNC machines to produce molds, reducing errors in intermediate steps.
Quality inspection becomes data-driven. Every panel is scanned before leaving the factory, with an inspection report generated for each. We have established a tolerance database to analyze and improve panels exceeding tolerances. At the Nanning production base, scan-based inspection raised the first-pass product yield to 99.5%. During the installation phase, we scan the base structure to optimize installation plans, improving efficiency by 30%.
Data application extends to operation and maintenance. As-built models serve as digital assets that support future maintenance and renovation. Qinglong Group's application of 3D scanning technology achieves full lifecycle management from design to operation and maintenance.
