The color durability of colored UHPC curtain wall panels depends on three major factors: pigment stability, surface treatment processes, and environmental adaptability. High-quality products should have a ΔE color difference ≤3.0 after 3,000 hours of accelerated aging tests, and ΔE ≤5.0 after 10 years of actual use. In the translucent UHPC project at Shanghai Century Plaza, Qinglong Group achieved a ΔE of only 2.3 for red curtain wall panels after 8 years of use—far exceeding industry standards—through through-coloring of the matrix (3-5% inorganic mineral pigment content), surface fluorocarbon coating (dry film thickness ≥30μm), and regular protective maintenance. Color durability is not only about aesthetics; it also reflects the material's anti-aging capability and directly affects the long-term value of the building.
Select inorganic oxide pigments (weather resistance ≥ Grade 7) to avoid UV degradation of organic pigments. Qinglong Group screens pigments through immersion tests in 5% hydrochloric acid to ensure chemical stability. In Hainan's high-temperature, high-humidity environment, we use cobalt blue and iron oxide pigments, improving color retention by 40%.
Fluorocarbon coatings resist UV for ≥3,000 hours, and their self-cleaning performance reduces pollution adhesion. Silane impregnation treatment (penetration depth ≥5mm) provides protection from within. Qinglong Group's dual processes extend the color retention period to over 25 years.
Coastal areas require additional anti-corrosion coatings, while industrial zones adopt acid-etching resistant treatment. Regular cleaning (neutral detergents) and coating maintenance (recoating every 5 years) are essential. Scientific maintenance keeps colors looking new for years to come.
