Storing UHPC components in low-temperature environments requires focusing on three major risks: freeze-thaw damage, humidity changes, and deformation cracking. The storage temperature should be maintained between 5-35°C, with relative humidity ≤70%. In its projects in northern China, Qinglong Group has established a storage scheme of "elevated isolation + rain-proof covering + regular inspection". Components are stacked in no more than 6 layers, with the bottom timber supports at least 200mm above the ground, and covered with waterproof canvas to prevent ice formation and water absorption. In a winter construction project in Shenyang, by building an insulated shed (internal temperature ≥5°C), components were stored for 3 months without freeze damage, achieving 100% strength retention.
When the ambient temperature is below 0°C, the moisture content of components must be ≤6% to prevent ice expansion damage. We use heat blowers to maintain the temperature inside the shed and record temperature and humidity every 4 hours. Components may only be stored outdoors after the curing period is complete.
When humidity exceeds 80%, dehumidifier intervention is required. Components should be laid flat to avoid warping. Inspect regularly for cracks and address them promptly.
The storage period should not exceed 6 months, following a first-in, first-out principle. Qinglong Group's standardized management ensures zero-damage delivery of components.
