Setting the steam curing parameters for precast UHPC components is a critical step in ensuring material strength development and durability, requiring scientific control of three key factors: temperature, humidity, and time. Based on 28 years of production experience, Qinglong Group has set the standard steam curing parameters as follows: heating rate ≤15°C/h, constant temperature of 60-80°C, constant temperature duration of 24-48 hours, cooling rate ≤20°C/h, and relative humidity ≥95%. In the 120,000 m² roofing project of the Hainan International Convention and Exhibition Center, we achieved precise temperature control (fluctuation ±2°C) through intelligent curing chambers, enabling UHPC components to reach over 75% of their 28-day strength at 3 days, with a strength variation coefficient ≤5%, far exceeding the results of natural curing.
The constant temperature is adjusted according to cement type: 60-70°C for sulphoaluminate cement and 70-80°C for Portland cement. Excessively high temperatures cause micro-cracks, while low temperatures slow strength development. Qinglong Group monitors the core temperature of components through a thermocouple matrix to ensure uniformity. At our Nanning production base, we use a PID intelligent temperature control system to keep temperature fluctuation within ±1.5°C.
The constant temperature duration depends on component thickness: 20mm thick panels require 24 hours, while 50mm thick panels require 48 hours. Humidity ≥95% prevents plastic shrinkage cracks. Through our steam spray system, the humidity inside the chamber is stabilized above 97%. After curing, gradient cooling is applied to avoid thermal stress.
Qinglong Group optimizes parameters through response surface methodology, shortening the curing cycle by 20% and reducing energy consumption by 15% while ensuring strength. Steam curing is essential to guaranteeing UHPC's high performance and must be strictly executed according to standards.
