How to Achieve Demountable Connections for GRC Curtain Walls? Reversible Connections and Qinglong Group's Innovative Design

The demountable connection of GRC curtain walls is achieved through "modular design, standardized interfaces, and specialized tools", with the core aim of meeting the needs of building renovation, repair and replacement, and material recycling. The three demountable solutions developed by Qinglong Group—the clip connection system, the bolt connection system, and the plug-in system—have been successfully applied in projects such as the Shenzhen Yirui Biotechnology Building and the Wuhan Hanxiu Theater, achieving disassembly and reinstallation of a single panel within 30 minutes, with repeated installation precision errors of ≤±1.5mm. Demountable connections not only facilitate later maintenance but also align with the sustainable development philosophy of green building, representing an important direction for the future of curtain wall technology.

Clip connections are suitable for standard panels. We developed an aluminum alloy clip groove system that achieves rapid locking through spring clips, with each connection point providing pull-out resistance ≥3kN. In the Nanning New Media Center project, clip connections tripled the efficiency of panel replacement. Bolt connections are better suited for irregular-shaped panels, using stainless steel T-bolts operated within panel joints, leaving no visible connection points on the exterior. Our patented anti-loosening design ensures long-term connection reliability.

The plug-in system is used for unitized curtain walls. GRC panels are pre-assembled with steel sub-frames in the factory and plugged into position on site. This system offers high installation precision but requires significant upfront investment. Qinglong Group recommends selecting an appropriate demountable solution based on the characteristics of each project.

Demountable connections require matching specialized tools and operation guides. We compile disassembly and installation manuals for each project and train property management personnel. This forward-looking design facilitates whole-life-cycle building management.
