The freeze-thaw resistance of GRC materials is expressed by the frost resistance grade; premium products should reach F300 or above, meaning that after 300 freeze-thaw cycles, strength loss is ≤20% and mass loss is ≤5%. Based on 28 years of project experience in cold regions, Qinglong Group has optimized the pore structure and controlled the moisture content, giving its products frost resistance far exceeding the standard, with outstanding performance in Northeast China projects. We test in accordance with the "Standard for Test Methods of Long-term Performance and Durability of Ordinary Concrete" to ensure reliable data.
The industry standard requires a GRC frost resistance grade of ≥F100, while Qinglong Group's internal control standard is F300. Freeze-thaw tests are conducted in the range of -18℃ to 5℃, with measurements taken every 25 cycles. After 300 cycles, our products retain ≥90% of their dynamic elastic modulus.
By adding air-entraining agents (air content 4-6%), uniform closed bubbles are introduced into the matrix to relieve frost heave pressure. The water-binder ratio is controlled at ≤0.35 to reduce the content of freezable water. Qinglong Group uses rapid freeze-thaw chambers with automated testing for high efficiency.
In a commercial complex project in Shenyang, the GRC curtain wall withstood the test of -30℃ severe cold with no cracking or spalling. We recommend high frost-resistant GRC products as the first choice for projects in cold regions.
