GRC offers outstanding fire resistance. Both its matrix material (cement) and its reinforcing material (glass fibre) are inorganic non-combustible substances, so GRC products themselves fall under Class A non-combustible materials—the highest rating specified in the national standard GB 8624-2012 "Classification for Burning Behaviour of Building Materials and Products". This means that under fire conditions, GRC will not burn or produce toxic smoke, buying valuable time for evacuation and firefighting. It is an ideal material for all types of buildings, especially large public buildings, high-rise buildings, transportation hubs and other projects with strict fire-safety requirements. Qinglong Group's GRC products have been tested by authoritative institutions such as the National Quality Supervision and Inspection Center for Fire Building Materials, and all achieve a Class A (A1) burning performance rating, fully meeting the most stringent building fire-safety codes.
The fire-resistant advantages of GRC are reflected in the following aspects: First, its non-combustible nature prevents the material itself from becoming an ignition source or fuelling the spread of fire at the source. Second, at high temperatures, GRC does not release toxic or harmful gases, avoiding casualties caused by smoke inhalation during fires. Third, GRC has low thermal conductivity, providing a certain degree of thermal insulation in the early stages of a fire and protecting the structures behind it. In actual fire tests, GRC components maintain structural integrity for an extended period under high temperatures without spalling or sudden collapse, which is crucial for keeping escape routes clear and ensuring structural safety.
In architectural applications, GRC is commonly used in areas requiring fire separation and fire-resistance ratings, such as fire walls, fire-resistant ceilings, ventilation duct enclosures and stairwell finishes. For example, in large commercial complexes, large decorative fire-resistant ceilings made of GRC can meet complex aesthetic design requirements while fully achieving Class I fire-resistance standards. In production, Qinglong Group ensures that all raw materials (including any small amounts of polymer modifiers that may be added) are non-combustible or flame-retardant materials, guaranteeing the fire-safety integrity of its products at the source. In addition, we can provide fire-resistance limit test reports for GRC components or cooperate in full-system fire-resistance testing in accordance with the fire-protection design requirements of specific projects, offering a solid and reliable technical basis for building design. Therefore, in modern construction where safety is paramount, GRC's Class A fire performance is one of its irreplaceable core values.
