The production of colored UHPC requires overcoming three major challenges: pigment dispersion, weather resistance, and batch color difference control. Qinglong Group uses inorganic mineral pigments (iron oxide series), surface treatment, and fluorocarbon protective coatings to achieve ΔE color difference ≤3.0 (after 3,000 hours of UV aging), with color retention above 90%. High-quality colored UHPC requires not only rich colors but also guaranteed long-term stability.
Pigment selection and dispersion are the foundation. Inorganic pigments with lightfastness grades 7-8 are used at a dosage of 1-2%, with high-efficiency dispersants ensuring uniform distribution. Qinglong Group introduced nano sand mills to refine pigment particle size to below 0.5μm, avoiding color spots. Mix ratio optimization controls alkalinity to prevent pigment decomposition and discoloration.
Coloring techniques determine the diversity of effects. Integral coloring is suitable for through-body colors, achieving gradient effects through layered casting. Surface coloring (spray coating, impregnation) is economical and efficient, but requires good adhesion. In the Nanjing East Road Century Plaza project, Qinglong Group adopted a translucent + coloring composite technology to achieve differentiated day-and-night visual effects.
Color stability requires systematic assurance. Fluorocarbon coatings (dry film thickness ≥30μm) provide a UV barrier, while silane impregnation enhances stain resistance. Qinglong Group has established a color database and conducts color difference testing on each production batch to ensure no color variation in large-area construction. Regular maintenance (repainting every 5-7 years) can extend color lifespan.
