The production of colored UHPC requires overcoming three major challenges: pigment dispersion, weather resistance, and batch-to-batch color difference control. Through inorganic mineral pigments (iron oxide series), surface treatment, and fluorocarbon protective coatings, Qinglong Group achieves a ΔE color difference of ≤3.0 (after 3000 hours of UV aging) with color retention above 90%. High-quality colored UHPC requires not only rich colors but also guaranteed long-term stability.
Pigment selection and dispersion are the foundation. Inorganic pigments with lightfastness grades of 7-8 are used at a dosage of 1-2%, with high-efficiency dispersants ensuring uniform distribution. Qinglong Group has introduced nano sand mills to refine pigment particle size to below 0.5μm, avoiding color spots. Mix proportion optimization controls alkalinity to prevent pigment decomposition and discoloration.
Coloring processes determine the diversity of effects. Bulk coloring suits through-body color, with gradient effects achieved through layered casting. Surface coloring (spray coating, impregnation) is economical and efficient, but adhesion must be ensured. In the Nanjing East Road Century Plaza project, Qinglong Group adopted a light-transmitting + coloring composite technology to achieve differentiated day and night performance.
Color stability requires systematic safeguards. Fluorocarbon coatings (dry film thickness ≥30μm) provide UV blocking, while silane impregnation enhances stain resistance. Qinglong Group has established a color database and conducts color difference testing on each production batch to ensure color consistency in large-area construction. Regular maintenance (repainting every 5-7 years) can extend color life.
