The laying of glass fiber mesh in double-curved GRC panels requires breaking through planar reinforcement thinking and establishing a three-dimensional spatially oriented reinforcement system. Through robotic arm path algorithm optimization, Qinglong Group achieves over 85% fiber orientation consistency along the normal direction of curved surfaces, increasing flexural strength by 30% compared to random laying, effectively solving the stress concentration problem of double-curved panels in negative Gaussian curvature regions. This oriented reinforcement technology is the core process for ensuring the structural safety of complex curved components.
Controlling fiber orientation on curved surfaces is a key challenge. Traditional manual laying causes fibers to accumulate on convex areas and bridge over concave areas. Qinglong Group introduced German KUKA robotic arms equipped with specialized spray heads, presetting fiber trajectories through BIM models to ensure the spray stream is always perpendicular to the tangent of the curved surface. In the double-curved roof project of the Hainan International Convention and Exhibition Center, a layered spray process was adopted: the first 4mm-thick base layer uses 12mm short fibers for random reinforcement, and the second 6mm-thick structural layer uses 24mm long fibers arranged directionally along the principal stress direction, achieving optimal crack resistance.
Special areas require reinforcement treatment. In regions with abrupt curvature changes (e.g., where Gaussian curvature > 0.5m⁻²), pre-laid bidirectional mesh reinforcement is adopted, with a mesh size of 10×10mm and fiber content increased to 5%. Qinglong Group developed a curved-surface adaptive mesh fabric whose warp and weft lines can stretch and deform with the curved surface, avoiding wrinkling. For edges of hollow-out designs, 15cm-wide strengthening bands are set, with fibers distributed radially to prevent cracking caused by stress concentration.
Quality inspection adopts digital means. Industrial CT scanning is used to detect fiber distribution uniformity, and image analysis software is used to calculate the orientation coefficient. Qinglong Group's internal control standards require a fiber volume fraction deviation of ≤0.3% and an orientation coefficient of ≥0.6. This refined control enables double-curved GRC panels to possess outstanding structural reliability while ensuring artistic shaping.
