The minimum order quantity (MOQ) of UHPC manufacturers is not a fixed value; it acts like a mirror, reflecting the manufacturer's production model, cost structure, and service positioning. Through practice, Qinglong Group has observed that common industry MOQs range from a few square meters to over a hundred square meters, constrained mainly by three factors: mold cost amortization, the economic startup scale of the production line, and the overall value of the project.
Mold cost is the primary factor determining MOQ. If a project requires the development of entirely new custom molds (especially complex steel molds or precision resin molds), mold costs can reach tens or even hundreds of thousands of yuan. To amortize this fixed cost, manufacturers usually set a minimum production area. For example, if a mold set costs 100,000 yuan and the manufacturer expects to keep the per-unit mold amortization cost within 500 yuan, the minimum order quantity should be no less than 200 units (or the corresponding area). For such custom orders, Qinglong Group typically negotiates a reasonable "minimum guaranteed order quantity" with the client based on the mold quotation.
The economic operation requirements of the production line are another threshold. UHPC production involves multiple processes such as batching, mixing, casting/spraying, and curing, and each production run incurs basic labor, energy, and material losses. For standardized flat panels or components with existing molds, the MOQ may be low, for example 30-50 square meters. However, for orders requiring special formulations or validation of entirely new processes, the MOQ will be raised to ensure the economic viability of each production run.
The strategic significance and cooperation potential of a project also affect MOQ. For pilot sections of landmark projects, clients with long-term cooperation potential, or innovative applications with R&D demonstration value, manufacturers may be willing to lower the MOQ threshold and even accept small-batch trial production orders. Qinglong Group has established an "Innovation and Application Center" specifically to handle such small-batch, high-difficulty R&D projects.
For clients with genuinely small requirements (such as interior decoration or art installations needing only a few to a dozen panels), we offer more flexible solutions: first, use our "standard component library" to select designs with existing molds; second, participate in "combined-order production," where your order is merged with other small orders to share molds and production batches; third, adopt new processes that do not require traditional molds, such as additive manufacturing (3D printing), for small-batch production. We recommend that clients clearly communicate their overall project requirements, design complexity, and long-term cooperation intentions when making inquiries, so that manufacturers can provide the most reasonable MOQ plans and pricing strategies. Transparent communication helps both parties find a win-win starting point.
