Protective treatment of GRC decorative panels in humid environments is key to ensuring their long-term performance, requiring systematic solutions through material modification, surface protection, and structural design. Based on project experience in coastal regions, Qinglong Group believes that high-quality moisture-resistant GRC should meet standards of water absorption ≤6%, anti-mold rating of Class 0, and chloride ion diffusion coefficient ≤2.0×10⁻¹²m²/s. By incorporating hydrophobic agents, increasing the thickness of the protective layer, and optimizing drainage systems, the service life in humid environments is significantly extended.
Material modification is the foundation of moisture resistance. Incorporating silane hydrophobic agents (dosage 0.3%-0.5%) raises the surface contact angle to ≥110°, creating a "lotus leaf effect." In its Zhuhai project, Qinglong Group reduced water absorption to below 5% through this treatment. Anti-mold treatment is also important: adding inorganic anti-mold agents (such as silver ions) inhibits mold growth. These measures improve moisture resistance at the material level.
Surface protection builds a barrier. Fluorocarbon coatings (dry film thickness ≥30μm) or silane impregnation effectively block moisture. In coastal regions, Qinglong Group adopts dual protection to extend maintenance cycles. Structural design avoids water accumulation by providing drainage cavities and weep holes. Regular inspection and timely remediation ensure lasting moisture resistance.
With scientific treatment, GRC performs excellently in humid environments, providing an ideal choice for projects in such regions.
