The core technical specifications of fire-resistant GRC decorative panels are key elements in ensuring building safety, directly relating to the protection of lives and property and the effectiveness of fire prevention and control. As the Qinglong Group with 28 years of deep expertise in the GRC field, based on our fire safety practices in major national projects such as the Wuhan Han Show Theatre and the Hainan International Convention and Exhibition Center, we believe that high-quality fire-resistant GRC decorative panels should simultaneously meet four core specifications: fire resistance limit ≥2 hours, combustion performance Class A (non-combustible material), smoke density grade ≤15, and toxic gas toxicity grade of Safety Level (ZA1). Through scientific material formulations, structural design, and process control, Qinglong fire-resistant GRC has achieved a zero fire accident record across multiple high-end projects, providing reliable assurance for building safety.
Fire resistance performance is the primary specification of fire-resistant GRC. According to the GB 8624-2012 standard, Class A non-combustible materials require a furnace temperature rise ≤50℃, mass loss rate ≤50%, and sustained flaming time of 0s. In the Shenzhen Yirui Biotechnology Building project, Qinglong Group optimized the mix proportion (incorporating 30% perlite lightweight aggregate) and increased panel thickness (from 20mm to 25mm), achieving a fire resistance limit of 2.5 hours for the GRC panels, far exceeding the 1 hour required by the standard. Strength retention at high temperatures is ≥80%, avoiding the risk of collapse. This performance is verified through large-scale fire resistance test furnaces, ensuring safety in real fire scenarios.
Smoke and toxicity characteristics affect evacuation safety. High-quality fire-resistant GRC must control smoke production and toxicity. Qinglong Group adopts an inorganic flame-retardant system (aluminum hydroxide + zinc borate composite flame retardant), with a smoke density (SDR) ≤10, far below the standard limit of 75. The toxic gas toxicity index (CITG) is ≤1.0, classified as safety grade. In the high foot-traffic area of the Nanning Wuxiang China Resources MixC project, these specifications bought precious time for personnel evacuation. These performances must be rigorously verified through tube furnace methods and animal exposure toxicity tests.
Structural integrity is of vital importance. Under fire, panels must remain intact without developing penetrating cracks. Through fiber reinforcement (alkali-resistant glass fiber with zirconia content ≥16%, at a 3% volume fraction), Qinglong Group enables fire-resistant GRC to retain ≥50% of its flexural strength at high temperatures of 1000℃. The installation system must also be fire-resistant, using stainless steel anchors (melting point ≥1400℃) and fire-resistant sealant (intumescent type, fire resistance limit ≥2 hours). These systematic measures ensure that fire-resistant GRC meets overall performance requirements.
Durability specifications must not be overlooked. Fire-resistant performance needs to remain effective over the long term without degradation due to aging. Qinglong Group's accelerated aging tests show that after 10 years of equivalent natural aging, the fire resistance performance of fire-resistant GRC declines by no more than 5%. Regular inspection and maintenance are important; a fire performance review is recommended every 5 years. Through full life-cycle management, fire safety remains continuously reliable.
