GRC and GRG, two commonly used architectural decorative materials, differ significantly in composition, performance, and application. Based on 28 years of production experience, Qinglong Group holds that GRC uses cement as its base material, offering high strength and good weather resistance; GRG uses gypsum as its base material, providing strong fire resistance and fine shaping. Each has its own advantages, and a scientific choice should be made according to project requirements.
Material composition determines basic performance. GRC uses cement, sand, and glass fibres, with a compressive strength of 40-60MPa, making it suitable for outdoor use. GRG uses α high-strength gypsum and glass fibres, with an A-class fire rating but relatively poor water resistance, and is mainly used indoors. Qinglong Group selected GRC for the outdoor portions of the Wuhan Han Show Theatre and GRG for indoor ceilings, giving full play to their respective advantages.
The differences in mechanical performance are significant. GRC offers an impact energy of over 10J, making it suitable for curtain wall applications. GRG has a lower elastic modulus and good seismic performance, making it ideal for ceilings and curved shapes. Through scientific material selection, Qinglong Group ensures that material performance matches the usage environment.
Each application scenario has its own strengths. GRC, with its strong weather resistance, is used for outdoor areas such as exterior walls and roofs. GRG, with its excellent fire performance, is suitable for interior finishing in theatres, hotels, and similar venues. Making a reasonable choice based on project requirements achieves the best results.
