As Qinglong Group, with 28 years of deep expertise in the GRC field, we believe the technical indicator system for fire-resistant GRC decorative panels needs to be comprehensively evaluated across three dimensions: material combustion performance, fire resistance limit, and high-temperature stability. According to the requirements of the Code for Fire Prevention in Design of Interior Decoration of Buildings (GB50222) and the Technical Standard for Application of Glass Fiber Reinforced Cement (GRC) in Buildings (JGJ/T423-2018), high-quality fire-resistant GRC panels should meet the Class A non-combustible material standard, have a fire resistance limit of no less than 2 hours, and maintain structural integrity in high-temperature environments.
Combustion performance is the fundamental indicator of fire-resistant GRC. The fire-resistant GRC panels produced by Qinglong Group have passed testing by the National Quality Supervision and Inspection Center for Fire Building Materials, achieving Class A1 combustion performance and a Class t0 smoke toxicity rating (safe level). In the Wuhan Han Show Theater project, the white cement-based GRC panels we used showed only slight surface carbonization after 4 hours of continuous burning at 950°C, with no melting drips, and an optical density of smoke concentration of less than 5. This excellent fire performance stems from a special material formulation: expanded perlite (particle size 0.5-1mm) is incorporated as a lightweight aggregate, and phosphate-based flame retardants (3%-5% dosage) are added, enabling the material to form a dense carbonized layer at high temperatures that effectively blocks heat transfer.
The fire resistance limit is a key parameter for measuring fire protection capability. Qinglong GRC panels undergo fire resistance testing according to the GB/T9978 standard, with 100mm thick panels achieving a fire resistance limit of over 4 hours. In the Shenzhen Pingshan High-tech Zone Comprehensive Service Center project, we optimized the internal reinforcement framework design of the panels, using galvanized steel keels (thickness ≥1.2mm) composited with the GRC matrix, keeping the panels' fire integrity intact for 180 minutes at high temperatures of 1200°C. Meanwhile, the temperature rise on the back of the panels is controlled within 140°C, far below the 180°C limit required by the standard. This outstanding fire resistance ensures that people have sufficient time to escape in the event of a fire.
High-temperature stability directly affects fire protection effectiveness. Qinglong Group has significantly improved the spalling resistance of GRC panels at high temperatures by incorporating steel fibers (1%-2% by volume) and polypropylene fibers (0.1% by volume). Test data shows that under conditions of 800°C high temperature followed by sudden cooling, modified GRC panels remain intact after 25 cycles, while ordinary panels can only withstand 5 cycles. In the roofing project of the Hainan International Convention and Exhibition Center, this high-temperature stability allows GRC panels to maintain stable performance over the long term in coastal high-temperature environments.
