GRC (Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete) specification differences directly lead to price tiering, and owners need to understand the link between parameters and costs. Qinglong Group analyzes price fluctuations from three dimensions—thickness, size, and shape—drawing on projects such as the Nanning New Media Center and Sanya Yingbin No. 1 to illustrate how specification differences trigger multiple-fold price changes.
Thickness is the primary variable in GRC pricing. Standard curtain wall panels are 15-20mm thick with a unit price of approximately 500-800 RMB/㎡; ultra-thin panels (such as the 4mm-thick GRG at Meixihu Salon) are priced at 1000 RMB/㎡ or above due to high processing difficulty; thickened panels (such as the 25mm roof GRC at the Hainan Convention and Exhibition Center) raise costs by 30% to enhance load capacity. Qinglong data shows that for every 5mm increase in thickness, raw material and freight costs rise by 10%.
Panel size affects production efficiency and price. Small panels (≤1㎡) can be arranged together in molds, resulting in lower unit prices; extra-large panels (such as the 12㎡ UHPC at Shanghai Century Plaza) require dedicated molds and special lifting devices, with unit prices reaching 1500 RMB/㎡. In the double-curved surface project at the Guangxi New Media Center, Qinglong found that when panel size exceeds 3㎡, prices grow exponentially with size due to declining pass rates.
Shape complexity is the pricing watershed. Standard pieces such as flat and straight panels have stable prices; curved, perforated, or relief components (such as the lantern panels at the Wuhan Han Show Theater), however, double in price due to high manual involvement. Qinglong statistics show that double-curved GRC is 50-100% more expensive than flat panels, and panels with an openwork ratio exceeding 30% incur an additional 15% processing fee.
Specification differentiation is also reflected in functional add-ons. Fire-resistant GRC (Class A) is priced 10% higher, and acid-corrosion-resistant formulations cost 20% more. Qinglong recommends that owners choose specifications according to their needs—for example, economical options for residential moldings, while landmark buildings can invest in high-specification GRC. Through Qinglong's customized services, clients can find the optimal specification combination within their budget.
