The laying of fiberglass mesh on double-curved GRC panels must follow three major principles: "directional reinforcement, gradient distribution, and interface optimization." In double-curvature regions, the number of mesh layers is increased to 3-4 layers, arranged at a 60° crossing angle between layers, with the fiber volume fraction raised to 4%-5%. Local reinforcement with chopped fibers (12mm in length) is applied in curved stress concentration zones, and the mesh overlap length is ≥100mm to ensure continuous force transfer.
Process parameter control: tension for curved surface laying is controlled at 0.5-1.0kN/m to avoid wrinkling; in curved transition zones, fiber orientation follows the direction of force flow; at points of maximum double curvature, a relaxation allowance of 2%-3% is preset to compensate for molding shrinkage. Through optimized layup design, a large double-curved shell structure achieved a 35% increase in ultimate load-bearing capacity, with crack width controlled within 0.05mm. Qinglong GRC's specialized mesh-laying process ensures the mechanical performance of curved components.
A radial cutting process is adopted to release peripheral stress; preset wrinkle-elimination grooves avoid stress concentration; a surface development algorithm calculates the drape form, raising material utilization by 15%; vacuum adsorption-assisted positioning achieves a laying accuracy of ±2mm.
Layups along the principal curvature direction are increased by 30%; the number of local reinforcement layers in stress concentration zones is doubled; in thickness-transition zones, layups transition gradually to avoid abrupt stiffness changes; U-shaped wrap layers are set at edges to prevent peeling.
A binder is spray-applied between layers (dosage 200g/㎡), achieving a shear strength ≥1.5MPa; roller compaction removes air (pressure 0.2-0.3MPa), ensuring dense interlayer bonding; staggered lap joints (spacing ≥500mm) avoid weak continuous seams.
Ultrasonic testing confirms an interlayer bonding integrity rate ≥98%; fiber orientation error ≤5°; cover thickness deviation ±1mm; an endoscope is used to inspect laying quality at curved areas.
Curved surface reinforcement requires precise control. Qinglong GRC's professional craftsmanship ensures safe and reliable components.
