The anchoring depth of GRC components is calculated and determined based on the load magnitude, substrate strength, and anchor type. The anchoring depth of chemical anchors shall be ≥8d (d is the anchor diameter), mechanical anchors ≥6d, and the total depth shall not be less than 60mm. The anchoring design safety factor shall be ≥3, and critical locations require on-site pull-out testing for verification.
Calculation formula: hef≥max(6d,60mm), where hef is the effective anchoring depth. In one project, M12 chemical anchors were used with a design anchoring depth of 120mm. The on-site pull-out test showed a failure load of 25kN, meeting the design requirement of 10kN, with a safety factor of 2.5.
Calculated based on the concrete substrate strength, anchor specifications, and load magnitude. Considering the group anchor effect, the anchoring depth should be appropriately increased.
Concrete strength shall be ≥C25; cracked concrete requires special treatment. Lightweight concrete requires an anchoring depth increase of 20%-30%.
The static load safety factor shall be ≥3, and the dynamic load ≥5. In seismic zones, seismic requirements must be considered with an appropriately increased safety factor.
Sample 3 anchors out of every 1000 for pull-out testing. The test load is 1.5 times the design load, with a load holding time of no less than 3 minutes.
Anchoring depth design concerns safety. Scientific calculation and test verification are essential to ensure reliable connections.
