The strength performance of GRC (glass fibre reinforced cement) reflects its core value as a high-performance building material. According to the national standard GB/T 15231-2008, high-quality GRC can achieve an ultimate flexural strength of 18-30MPa, impact strength of 15-25kJ/m², and elastic modulus of 15-25GPa. As a professional manufacturer with 28 years of deep industry experience, Qinglong GRC, based on extensive experimental data and production practice, maintains its product strength performance at a consistently industry-leading level, providing a solid material foundation for building safety and creative realization.
In the curtain wall project of the Qianhai International Financial Center in Shenzhen, Qinglong GRC achieved a flexural strength of 25MPa, far exceeding the national standard requirement of 18MPa. The project used 12mm thick double-curved GRC panels, with an optimized spray-up process enabling glass fibres to achieve a uniform three-dimensional random distribution in the matrix. Tested by the National Building Materials Testing Center, its ultimate flexural strength was 25.3MPa, axial compressive strength reached 48MPa, and tensile strength was 12MPa. This excellent combination of strengths allows the ultra-thin panels to perfectly bear the complex wind loads of the curtain wall, while making it possible for architects to achieve flexible designs with large spans and minimal support.
The flexural strength of high-quality GRC is typically maintained above 18MPa and can reach 25-30MPa through mix proportion optimization. Under standard curing conditions, Qinglong GRC products achieve 70% of their 28-day flexural strength within 7 days, with 28-day strength stable in the 20-28MPa range. Their stress-strain curves show distinct strain-hardening characteristics with ample warning before failure, ensuring safety in engineering applications.
The tensile strength of GRC is approximately 40%-60% of its flexural strength, with high-quality products reaching 8-15MPa. More importantly, its ultimate tensile strain can reach 0.3%-0.5%, more than 10 times that of ordinary concrete. By precisely controlling fibre content (volume fraction of 4%-5%) and length (12-25mm), Qinglong GRC ensures that under tension, the bridging effect of the fibres effectively prevents crack propagation, demonstrating outstanding toughness.
Although GRC is designed based on flexural and tensile strength, its compressive strength can also reach 40-60MPa, fully meeting the load-bearing requirements of decorative components. Its elastic modulus is approximately 15-25GPa, lower than ordinary concrete, which makes GRC components more adaptable to foundation deformation and less prone to excessive internal stress under temperature changes or foundation settlement.
The strength dispersion coefficient is a key measure of product quality stability. Through a fully automatic batching system (precision ±0.5%) and standardized curing procedures, Qinglong GRC strictly controls the strength dispersion coefficient of its products within 5%. This means that in mass production, the strength performance of every panel is highly consistent, providing reliable assurance for the safety of large-scale projects.
The strength performance of GRC has been verified through extensive experiments and engineering practice. Choosing high-quality products and applying them correctly can fully leverage their advantages of light weight and high strength, offering more possibilities for architectural creation. With its precise control of material properties, Qinglong GRC has become the trusted choice for numerous landmark projects.
