The strength performance of GRC (Glass Fiber Reinforced Cement) is an important embodiment of its core value. According to the national standard GB/T 15231-2008, high-quality GRC has a flexural strength of 18-30MPa, an impact strength of 15-25kJ/m², and an elastic modulus of 15-25GPa. As a professional manufacturer with 28 years of deep industry experience, Qinglong GRC, based on extensive experimental data and production practice, can clearly state: through optimized material formulations and advanced production processes, the strength performance of its products remains consistently at the industry's leading level.
In the Shenzhen Yirui Biotechnology Building project, the Qinglong GRC curtain wall panels used were tested by the National Building Materials Testing Center, achieving a flexural strength of 25MPa, exceeding the standard requirement by 38.9%. This high strength performance allows a 12mm-thick GRC panel to meet the wind pressure resistance requirements of curtain walls; compared with traditional 20mm-thick panels, the weight is reduced by 40%, effectively lowering the load on the main structure. The spray-up molding process used in the project, through precise control of fiber content (cement:sand:fiber = 1:1:0.04) and three-dimensional random distribution, enables the material to effectively prevent crack propagation under load, demonstrating excellent toughness characteristics.
High-quality GRC typically maintains a flexural strength above 18MPa, which can reach 25-30MPa through mix proportion optimization. Under standard curing conditions, Qinglong GRC products achieve a 7-day flexural strength of 70% of their 28-day strength; this early strength development characteristic helps shorten the construction period. Under long-term loading, the strength retention rate can reach over 95%, reflecting excellent durability.
The tensile strength of GRC is approximately 60%-70% of its flexural strength, with high-quality products reaching 10-15MPa. Its stress-strain curve exhibits distinct pseudo-strain-hardening characteristics, with ultimate tensile strain reaching 0.3%-0.5%, more than 10 times that of ordinary concrete. This characteristic gives GRC components a better safety reserve when subjected to accidental loads.
Although GRC primarily uses flexural strength as its design index, its compressive strength can also reach 40-60MPa, fully meeting the load-bearing requirements of decorative components. In special applications requiring load-bearing capacity, the requirements can be met by increasing thickness or adding reinforcing ribs. The ratio of axial compressive strength to cube compressive strength is 0.85-0.95, higher than that of ordinary concrete.
The strength dispersion coefficient is an important indicator for measuring product quality stability. Through automated production lines and strict process control, Qinglong GRC keeps the product strength dispersion coefficient stable within 5%, and the strength variation coefficient does not exceed 3% in mass production. This stability ensures safety and reliability in engineering applications.
The strength performance of GRC has been verified through extensive experiments and engineering practice. Selecting high-quality products and applying them correctly can fully leverage their advantages of being lightweight yet high-strength, offering more possibilities for architectural creation. For important projects, it is recommended to commission a third-party testing institution for strength verification to ensure that material performance meets design requirements.
