Recreating a Classic: Sidelights on the On-Site Sample Acceptance Inspection of Qinglong's Landmark GRC Project in Dongguan

With bright spring sunshine, all things revive. On April 3, 2022, right in the season of Qingming Festival spring outings, Qinglong Company's GRC curtain wall project for the Dongguan Women and Children's Activity Center (new campus) welcomed a joint on-site acceptance inspection by the host and multiple visiting parties.

Director Zhu, Director Gan, Chief Engineer Wang, and Section Chief Xiao of the Municipal Urban Construction Bureau, representatives of the Municipal Women and Children's Activity Center, Dean Liu and designer Engineer Fu of the Design Institute, as well as Mr. He, Mr. Yang, and Mr. Tang of MCC Construction Group, and others conducted a sample inspection and acceptance of the GRC curtain wall project.

Qinglong Company Chairman Song, GRC Division General Manager Liu Renxin, Factory Director Zhou Gang, and project construction lead Engineer Li Renkuan accompanied the entire inspection and acceptance.

In accordance with relevant regulations and documents, the inspection team carried out the inspection and acceptance covering multiple aspects, including project progress, standard control, finished product manufacturing, use of low-carbon materials, and pandemic prevention. They also communicated and discussed on site with Chairman Song and General Manager Liu, listening to reports on the construction progress.

The inspection team highly recognized Qinglong's quality products and put forward relevant requirements, expressing the hope that Qinglong would continue to maintain strict quality control and deliver premium projects.

Qinglong Chairman Song stated that the Dongguan Women and Children's Activity Center, as a key project of Qinglong, has received the company's close attention. To ensure the successful completion of the project, premium resources have been allocated to give priority to and speed up the new center's construction progress, guaranteeing the project's quality and schedule and making it another benchmark project of Qinglong GRC.

During construction, the Qinglong GRC team carried forward the craftsman spirit of striving for excellence, actively innovated project management methods, and responded to national environmental protection policies by adopting low-carbon materials. At the same time, the team pursued both pandemic prevention and work resumption without neglecting either, strictly ensuring the quality of the curtain wall and construction safety, so that both project efficiency and construction schedule fully met the expected targets.

The successful undertaking and smooth construction of the GRC curtain wall for the Dongguan Women and Children's Activity Center (new campus) marks another distinctive GRC project for Qinglong, following such highly representative projects as the Easyhome Guangzhou Home Furnishing MALL, Dali University Library, Panzhihua Third Front Construction, Nanning China Resources Wuxiang MixC One, and Guangxi New Media Center, and stands as a signature work of Qinglong's GRC special-shaped component projects.

The Dongguan Women and Children's Activity Center (new site) project is located at the intersection of Xinyuan Road and Hongfu East Road in Dongcheng Sub-district, with a total site area of 11,116.74 square meters and a total floor area of 49,833.32 square meters.

The design draws inspiration from Dongguan's intangible cultural heritage "Guancao". Through abstract refinement and leveraging the exceptional plasticity of GRC material, it creates a woven-texture skin that forms the theater's new "coat", paired with gradient, rhythmic window openings that embody the vitality and energy of childhood. The tower and podium, outlined with flowing curves, express feminine softness and warmth.

Upon completion, the project will become a public-welfare public building in Dongguan that integrates quality education for women and children, special-talent teaching, children's entertainment, and performing arts, greatly enhancing the quality of women's and children's education in Dongguan. It is a livelihood project of great significance and will become another landmark building of Dongguan.
