Choosing the right fixing method for UHPC curtain wall panels is a critical design decision that affects structural safety, installation efficiency, and long-term maintenance. Two dominant methods exist: dry-hang and welding, each with distinct applicability.

1. Dry-Hang Fixing

Best for: Standard flat panels, light-to-medium curved panels, regular commercial and public buildings.
Advantages:
● High installation tolerance, forgiving of minor dimensional deviation
● Easy replacement of damaged panels during service life
● No thermal stress at fixing points
● Compatible with anti-seismic design nodes
Typical hanger materials: Aluminum alloy or stainless steel brackets with adjustable slots.

2. Welding Fixing

Best for: Large irregular panels (over 80 kg), supertall core-load scenarios, coastal high-corrosion environments.
Must pair with: S316 stainless steel anti-corrosion treatment at all welded joints.
Advantages:
● Stronger load-bearing capacity per fixing point
● More compact node, less visual interruption on facade
● Better wind-pressure resistance for supertall facades
Disadvantages:
● Less tolerant of dimensional error
● Difficult to replace damaged panels

3. Hybrid Fixing — The Rising Trend

For complex landmark projects, the leading practice combines both methods: dry-hang for routine panels, welding for core-load or visually critical sections. This balances safety, cost, and maintainability.
