The Huludao Coastal Scenic Area is located along the coast of the Bohai Sea, perennially affected by special climatic conditions such as high salt mist, strong monsoons, and large day-night temperature differences, which place far higher demands on the weather resistance, corrosion resistance, and structural stability of the building facade and landscape components than ordinary inland projects. In the early stage of the project, the client considered a natural stone curtain wall, but natural stone is heavy, imposing high requirements on the foundation load of buildings in coastal areas, and long-term salt mist erosion easily causes efflorescence and weathering, leading to extremely high later maintenance costs; meanwhile, ordinary aluminum panels lack natural texture in their stone-imitation effect and can hardly match the scenic area's overall positioning of "coastal natural ecology." After multiple rounds of material comparison and technical verification, the stone-imitation GRC components and GRC curtain wall system customized by Qinglong GRC manufacturer were finally determined as the core decorative materials.

GRC Curtain Wall and Stone-Imitation Component Construction Solution Customized for Coastal Scenarios For this GRC construction project at the Huludao Coastal Scenic Area, relying on our 28 years of full-chain service experience, we made targeted adaptations across all stages from preliminary detailed design and manufacturing to on-site installation: at the material formula level, we adjusted the alkali-resistant glass fiber ratio and the proportion of corrosion-resistant additives in the GRC base material, enabling the finished components to achieve a flexural strength of over 22MPa and a salt spray test duration far exceeding industry standard requirements, meeting the demand for more than 10 years of use without obvious weathering in coastal areas; in the surface treatment stage, we adopted a multi-layer stone-imitation texture replication process to restore the granular texture and natural color variation of natural granite, achieving over 95% visual similarity to real stone, while the overall weight is only 1/4 that of natural stone of the same thickness, greatly reducing the load pressure on the main building structure; in the installation stage, we adopted 3D laser scanning positioning and modular anchoring techniques, controlling the splicing error of all GRC curtain wall panels and landscape components within 0.5mm, and installed multiple wind-resistant and shock-absorbing structures capable of withstanding local strong monsoon impacts of force 12 or above.
