In the field of modern architectural decoration, perforated GRC decorative panels have become the preferred material for high-end projects such as landmark buildings and commercial complexes, thanks to their unique artistic expressiveness and structural performance. However, their production process involves the cross-application of materials science, structural mechanics, and precision manufacturing, presenting significant technical challenges. As an industry-leading enterprise with 28 years of full-chain experience in UHPC/GRC/GRG/GRP, Qinglong Group will analyze in depth the production bottlenecks and optimization paths of perforated GRC decorative panels from three dimensions: material properties, process control, and quality assurance.
I. The Balancing Challenge Between Material Mix Ratio and Structural Stability
The core contradiction of perforated GRC decorative panels lies in the tug-of-war between "perforation rate" and "structural strength". Conventional GRC materials are reinforced through the composite of glass fibers and a cement matrix, but perforated designs cause stress concentration, and traditional mix ratios are prone to cracking, deformation, and other problems. Relying on its provincial-level R&D center, Qinglong Group developed a specialized formula with a flexural strength of 22MPa by adjusting the glass fiber content (optimal range 3-5%) and optimizing the composite admixture system of silica fume and mineral powder, achieving a perforation rate of over 30% while meeting the durability requirements of the Technical Standard for Building Applications of Glass Fiber Reinforced Cement (GRC) (JGJ/T423-2018).
II. Mold Development and Molding Precision Control for Complex Shapes
The diversity of perforated patterns places extremely high demands on mold technology. Traditional wooden or steel molds can hardly meet 0.5mm-level precision requirements and have low reusability. Qinglong introduced 3D scanning and parametric design technologies, using imported epoxy resin composite materials to make molds, raising pattern replication precision to 0.1mm and extending mold life to more than 50 uses. For double-curved perforated components, pre-assembly simulation through BIM technology, combined with a vacuum casting process, solved the industry pain points of residual air bubbles and uneven fiber distribution; this technology has been applied in benchmark projects such as the Century Plaza renovation on Nanjing East Road.
III. Coordinated Optimization of Production Efficiency and Quality Stability
The production process of perforated GRC is more than 30% more complex than that of ordinary panels, so the key is how to improve efficiency while ensuring quality. Through intelligent production line upgrades, Qinglong integrated processes such as material distribution, forming, and curing into an automated assembly line, coupled with an RFID chip traceability system, achieving a 40% reduction in production cycle and keeping the defect rate below 0.3%. In the curing stage, gradient temperature and humidity control technology (25°C→45°C→20°C) raised the 28-day strength compliance rate of components to 99.6%, far exceeding the industry average.
IV. Full-Chain Service System Supporting Technology Implementation
As a national Specialized, Refined, Distinctive, and Innovative enterprise, Qinglong knows well that technological breakthroughs must be combined with engineering practice. From load simulation analysis in the design development stage, to 3D laser positioning installation during construction, to a 5-year warranty commitment after sales, a closed-loop service of "technology R&D - customized production - precise delivery" has been formed. For example, in the Dongguan Women and Children's Activity Center project, through 28 quality inspection procedures and a modular installation plan, the "zero-error" assembly of 1,200 perforated GRC components was successfully achieved, winning the Silver Award of the first GRC Building Engineering Innovation Award.
The production difficulties of perforated GRC decorative panels are essentially a challenge of integrating materials science with engineering art. With 28 years of technological accumulation as its cornerstone, Qinglong Group continues to break through industry technical bottlenecks through innovative material formulations, digital production upgrades, and full-chain service assurance. In the future, with the development of UHPC and GRC composite technology, perforated decorative panels will show greater potential in lightweight and large-span applications, providing more possibilities for building envelope design. As a member of the International GRC Association, Qinglong is willing to work with industry partners to advance standard development and, under the mission of "creating beautiful architecture", lead the technological innovation of new decorative materials.
