In the field of architectural decoration, the safe installation of GRC components is a key factor in determining project quality. GRC components of different weights not only place differentiated requirements on installation techniques, but also directly affect structural safety and service life. As an industry-leading enterprise with 28 years of full-chain experience in UHPC/GRC/GRG/GRP materials, Qinglong Group will provide professional solutions for designers and owners from three aspects: weight classification standards, installation process differences, and key precautions.
1. Matching GRC Component Weight Classification with Installation Solutions
The installation method of GRC components must be scientifically selected strictly according to weight grade. GRC components are usually divided into three categories: light (≤50kg), medium (50-150kg), and heavy (>150kg), with each grade corresponding to differentiated anchoring systems and construction processes. Taking the Dongguan Women and Children's Activity Center project, in which Qinglong Group participated, as an example, the light GRC decorative lines on its facade adopted a flexible connection solution, while the heavy light-transmitting concrete components in the Nanjing East Road Century Plaza renovation project adopted a rigid steel skeleton support system, fully confirming the decisive influence of weight classification on installation solutions.
2. Installation Techniques for GRC Components by Weight Grade
Light GRC components (such as cornice lines and window surrounds) mostly adopt a post-installed embedment + stainless steel bracket installation method, achieving flexible connection with the substrate through nylon expansion bolts, which can effectively absorb building settlement deformation. In a commercial complex project in Guangzhou, Qinglong Group innovatively adopted the "dual-point symmetrical anchoring method" for 35kg GRC decorative lines, controlling installation accuracy within ±2mm. Medium components (such as balcony railings and relief wall panels) require welding and fixing with section steel sub-frames, combined with epoxy resin grouting to enhance joint strength. The automated welding production line at the Nanning production base can ensure a 30% increase in the installation efficiency of medium components.
Heavy GRC components (such as irregular curtain wall panels and large reliefs) must undergo structural mechanics calculations and adopt a pre-embedded steel skeleton + adjustable connection joint system. In a landmark project in Saudi Arabia in which Qinglong participated, GRC exterior wall panels each weighing up to 280kg achieved precise connection with the main structure through 3D scanning positioning technology. It is particularly noteworthy that heavy components must undergo a static load test at 1.5 times the rated load before installation, which is also a standardized construction requirement for Qinglong as a national high-tech enterprise.
3. Key Installation Precautions for All Weight Ranges
Regardless of weight grade, GRC component installation must follow the principle of "3D positioning and graded acceptance." Light components should be checked with a focus on the anti-corrosion treatment of brackets and the quality of sealant caulking; medium components require joint pull-out force testing, and Qinglong's corporate standard requires a pull-out force of no less than 12kN per anchoring point; heavy components must undergo third-party structural safety verification. For example, the Technical Standard for Building Application of Glass Fibre Reinforced Cement (GRC) (JGJ/T423-2018), in whose formulation Qinglong participated, clearly stipulates that the connection joints of heavy components should undergo fatigue performance testing.
In addition, environmental factors have a significant impact on installation quality. In high-temperature regions, the thermal expansion coefficient of GRC materials must be taken into account; Qinglong's temperature-controlled connection joints can accommodate deformation caused by temperature differences of ±50°C. In coastal high-humidity environments, all metal connectors must be made of 316 stainless steel, which is also the core technical guarantee enabling Qinglong's products to sell well in the Southeast Asian market.
As a member unit of the International GRC Association, Qinglong Group has always believed that GRC component installation is not only a technical undertaking but also a systematic one. From BIM parametric modeling in the detailed design stage, to RFID quality traceability in production, to 3D laser scanning monitoring during construction, only full-chain technical control can ensure the installation safety of GRC components of different weights. This is precisely the key to Qinglong becoming a strategic partner of renowned real estate groups such as Vanke and Poly, and the best practice of its mission of "creating aesthetic architecture."
