In the field of architectural decoration, the quality of GRC projects not only relates to building safety and aesthetics, but also directly affects the whole-life-cycle value of a project. As an industry participant with 28 years of dedicated experience in UHPC/GRC/GRG/GRP materials, Qinglong Group has always believed that establishing a scientific and systematic whole-life-cycle quality management system is the core guarantee for maximizing project value. This article analyzes how to build a quality management closed loop for GRC projects from three aspects: key elements, implementation paths, and optimization strategies.
Core Elements of GRC Whole-Life-Cycle Quality Management: Full-Chain Control from Materials to Maintenance
Quality management of GRC projects must run through the four major stages of design, production, construction, and maintenance, with core elements including material performance stability, process standardization, process traceability, and continuous optimization mechanisms. Taking the material stage as an example, high-quality GRC components must ensure a glass fiber content of no less than 4.5% and a flexural strength of 20MPa or above, which requires suppliers to establish strict standards from raw material selection to mix ratio experiments. Through the material laboratory of its national-level R&D center, Qinglong Group achieves full-parameter control ranging from quartz sand gradation and cement grade to fiber dispersion, laying a solid foundation for project quality.
Implementation Path: Building an Integrated "Three Standardizations" Quality Management System
Standardized design is the starting point of quality management. In the detailed design stage, it is necessary to combine architectural styling requirements with GRC material characteristics and apply BIM technology for parametric modeling to avoid structural risks of special-shaped components in advance. The Technical Standard for Building Application of Glass Fiber Reinforced Cement (GRC) (JGJ/T423-2018), whose formulation Qinglong Group participated in, provides the industry with a design specification reference. The production stage requires the adoption of lean manufacturing, achieving mold precision control within ±0.5mm through automated production lines, while establishing quality traceability files for each batch of components covering key data such as raw material inspection and curing records.
Quality control in construction and installation focuses on precision and safety. Three-dimensional laser scanning technology is adopted for on-site setting out to ensure that installation errors do not exceed 3mm, while modular installation techniques improve construction efficiency. In the renovation project of Century Plaza on Nanjing East Road, Qinglong achieved "zero-error" alignment between translucent concrete components and glass curtain walls through this technology, winning the AALBORG WHITE Cup UHPC Construction Engineering Innovation Award. The after-sales maintenance stage requires establishing a regular inspection mechanism, conducting annual checks on the surface flatness and anchoring systems of GRC components, and promptly addressing potential problems such as weathering and cracking.
Optimization Strategy: Dual Drive of Data and Technological Innovation
Continuous optimization of quality management relies on data accumulation and technological iteration. By establishing a project database, the performance degradation patterns of GRC components under different regional and climatic conditions can be analyzed, providing a basis for adjusting material formulations. Meanwhile, intelligent technologies such as RFID chips are introduced to enable digital tracking of components throughout their life cycle. The intelligent management system deployed by Qinglong Group at its production base in Nanning, Guangxi can monitor production parameters such as temperature, humidity, and curing time in real time, raising the product pass rate to 99.2%.
For the industry, quality management of GRC projects is both a technical issue and a systemic one. From material R&D to project implementation, quality control at every stage requires the support of professional teams and scientific methods. As a national "Specialized, Refined, Distinctive, and Innovative" enterprise, Qinglong Group has always upheld the philosophy of "meticulousness and the pursuit of excellence", integrating whole-life-cycle quality management into the entire project process to provide designers and owners with full-chain quality assurance from concept to delivery. In the future, with the widespread application of new materials such as UHPC/GRC, establishing a sound quality management system will become the key to an enterprise's core competitiveness.
