In the field of building materials, Ultra-High Performance Concrete (UHPC) has become an ideal choice for modern architecture thanks to its outstanding mechanical properties and durability, yet its fire resistance in high-temperature environments has always been a focal point of industry attention. As an industry leader with 28 years of experience in detailed design and production of UHPC/GRC/GRG/GRP materials, Qinglong Group deeply understands the close relationship between material performance and building safety, and provides professional support for UHPC fire-resistance solutions through technological innovation and process optimization.
I. Core Challenges and Design Logic of UHPC Fire Resistance
Although UHPC features high strength and low porosity, its main component, cement-based material, is prone to dehydration and strength loss at high temperatures. In environments above 300°C, the internal fibers of conventional UHPC may degrade due to heat, leading to structural failure. Building on full-chain technical expertise, Qinglong Group has proposed a trinity design concept of "material modification + structural optimization + protection system". Through adjustments to material formulations and construction innovation, the fire resistance limit has been raised to over 180 minutes, meeting the Grade 1 fire resistance standard of GB/T 9978.1-2008 "Fire Resistance Test Methods for Building Components".
II. Key Technologies: Fire-Resistance Optimization Strategies from Material to Structure
1. Development of High-Temperature-Resistant Material Systems
Qinglong's R&D team has optimized the high-temperature resistance of the UHPC matrix by incorporating nano-scale aluminum oxide powder and ultra-fine silica fume, enabling the material to retain more than 70% of its compressive strength even at 600°C. Meanwhile, basalt fibers are used to replace part of the steel fibers, leveraging their high-temperature resistance (≥800°C) to enhance the material's thermal stability. Related technologies have been granted multiple invention patents (e.g., Patent No. ZL2023XXXXXXXXX).
2. Composite Protection Structural Design
For large UHPC components, an innovative composite structure of "UHPC substrate + lightweight fireproof coating + metal protective shell" has been adopted. For example, in the Nanjing East Road Century Plaza renovation project, light-transmitting UHPC components were protected by a composite system of 20mm-thick intumescent fireproof coating and 0.8mm galvanized steel plate. Testing showed a fire resistance limit of 2 hours, and the project won the Silver Award at the first AALBORG WHITE Cup UHPC Construction Engineering Innovation Awards.
3. Thermal Stress Release Structural Optimization
By using BIM technology to simulate thermal stress distribution at high temperatures, flexible fireproof sealant strips are installed at component corners and joints, with 1-2mm expansion joints reserved to prevent cracking caused by thermal deformation. The parametric splitting technology developed by Qinglong's detailed design team keeps the fire-protection construction tolerance of complex-shaped UHPC components within ±0.5mm.
III. Full-Chain Assurance: Quality Control from Laboratory to Construction Site
As a national high-tech enterprise, Qinglong has established an industry-leading fire-resistance testing center equipped with professional facilities such as a high-temperature mechanical property testing system and thermogravimetric analyzer, capable of simulating temperature environments from -40°C to 1200°C. Every batch of UHPC products must pass three levels of fire-resistance testing at 200°C, 400°C, and 600°C to ensure stable material performance. During construction, 3D laser scanning positioning technology is adopted to achieve precise alignment of fire-protection construction, and this has been successfully applied to landmark projects such as the Dongguan Women and Children's Activity Center.
Facing the dual challenges of building safety and aesthetic requirements, Qinglong Group, supported by 28 years of technical expertise, deeply integrates the improvement of UHPC fire resistance with green building concepts. Going forward, Qinglong will continue to advance UHPC fire-protection technology innovation, providing designers and owners with full-cycle solutions from material selection to construction implementation, fulfilling its corporate mission of "Creating Beautiful Architecture" and helping to build safer, more durable building spaces.
