As the green building wave sweeps across the globe, GRC (Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete), a new building material combining aesthetic expressiveness with environmental attributes, has seen its environmental acceptance standards become a core checkpoint for project implementation. As an industry leader with 28 years of deep expertise in UHPC/GRC/GRG/GRP materials, Qinglong Group leverages its full-chain technical accumulation to provide an in-depth analysis of the key indicators and implementation points of environmental acceptance for GRC projects, offering professional and compliant solutions for designers and owners.
The Core Indicator System for GRC Environmental Acceptance
As a "green passport" for GRC project delivery, environmental acceptance covers three major dimensions: raw materials, production processes, and finished product performance. The raw material stage requires focused verification of the alkali corrosion resistance of glass fibers (compliant with the JC/T 572 standard), the radionuclide limits of cement-based materials (GB 6566-2010), and the volatile organic compound (VOCs) content in admixtures. The raw material traceability system established by Qinglong at its production base in Nanning, Guangxi, enables full-process monitoring of environmental indicators from ore mining to finished product shipment, ensuring that the heavy metal content of each batch of GRC components remains below 0.01%.
Environmental control in the production process is reflected in dust emission and noise management. According to the Integrated Emission Standard of Air Pollutants (GB 16297), the dust emission concentration of GRC production lines must be controlled below 10mg/m³. By introducing a bag dust removal system imported from Germany, combined with negative pressure workshop design, Qinglong keeps actual emission values stable at around 5mg/m³. In terms of noise control, low-noise ball mills and shock-absorbing bases are adopted, keeping daytime boundary noise within 60 decibels, meeting the Class I acoustic environment functional zone requirements of the Emission Standard for Industrial Enterprises Noise at Boundary (GB 12348).
Key Points for Green Construction and Sustainability Acceptance
Environmental acceptance during the project construction phase focuses on waste disposal and resource circulation. Qinglong's proprietary "dry-mix pre-blending + on-site forming" process keeps the material loss rate below 3%, reducing construction waste generation by 60% compared to traditional processes. Offcuts and discarded components are crushed and sieved for 100% recycling, being reused as roadbed fill or recycled aggregates in production. In the Nanjing East Road Century Plaza renovation project, this technology successfully achieved zero-carbon construction of a 2,000㎡ GRC light-transmitting curtain wall, winning the AALBORG WHITE Cup UHPC Building Engineering Innovation Award.
Environmental friendliness acceptance of finished products includes durability and recyclability assessments. High-quality GRC components must achieve frost resistance of 200 freeze-thaw cycles without cracks (GB/T 11973). By incorporating nano silica fume and polypropylene fibers, Qinglong has raised the product's impermeability grade to P12, demonstrating excellent weather resistance in projects under Saudi Arabia's high-temperature, high-salinity environment. Notably, the Technical Standard for Application of Glass Fiber Reinforced Cement (GRC) in Buildings (JGJ/T423-2018), which Qinglong participated in drafting, specifically added recyclability evaluation indicators, requiring that over 70% of materials be recyclable after the product's design life expires.
Whole Life Cycle Environmental Management Practices
As a National High-Tech Enterprise and a Specialized and Innovative Enterprise, Qinglong has built a whole life cycle environmental management system from design to maintenance. During the detailed design stage, BIM technology is used for optimized material layout, reducing cutting waste by more than 30%; the production process is powered by solar photovoltaics, achieving an annual carbon reduction of 800 tons; and a component health monitoring system has been established in the after-sales maintenance phase, using RFID chips for long-term tracking of environmental performance. This deep integration of "green genes" has earned Qinglong's GRC products LEED Platinum certification in international projects such as the Petronas Twin Towers in Malaysia and the Sydney Opera House in Australia.
With the advancement of the "14th Five-Year Plan" for Building Energy Efficiency and Green Building Development, environmental acceptance for GRC projects will shift from single-indicator assessment to systematic evaluation. Building on 28 years of technical accumulation, with 58 patents and experience in participating in the formulation of 12 national and industry standards, Qinglong Group is driving GRC materials to become a core carrier of green buildings. Choosing a supplier with full-chain environmental control capabilities is not only a guarantee of project compliance, but also an inevitable choice for the sustainable development of buildings.
